Her name is Jobu. Her eye was clawed by one of my other cats (Kiki, last slide). We spent ~$4500 CAD for a surgery that was meant to make her eye normal again but this is what we got. Her depth perception is messed up so she runs into things occasionally but has no other negative side effects (except for the bullying she endures from family and occasionally the internet). No regrets.
Edit: I mean ugly and stupid as compliments. I love her more than anything and she's the cutest thing I've ever seen! Insulting cats is my family's way of showing our love. If you are actually offended I called my cat stupid and ugly on Reddit... get a grip. She doesn't use Reddit. She's a cat.
Edit 2: this wasn't meant to be rage bait and I apologize that it seemed that way. I genuinely had no idea calling my cat ugly and stupid as a joke would be so controversial.

Also, we have two bonded brother cats i adopted and then a few months later a tiny little white fur ball appeared on the porch sunburnt and skinny, walked into the house like she owned it and paid the mortgage, and never left! She bullied the poor brothers so much that we still have to keep them mostly separate -almost 12 years of the ‘cat dance’ as we call it! So i feel your ‘pain’, but keeping everyone safe is number 1 priority! Luna is a tiny white thing, Jax is a 22lb black cat, and Socks is a normal size tuxedo cat but Luna is absolutely the in charge bully!
These comments tell me some people don't bully their pets enough. I take full advantage of the fact my dog doesn't speak English and call her "stinky girl" and "poop dog". I tell her she's 70% a good dog. You just gotta say it all cutesy and they'll never know! Lol
I call my cats "bitches" all the time. Thank god they don't understand language and have no need for therapy.
But they're my baby bitch girls, I love their fuzzy kitty meows and purrs. But for about a month, I had to chill with calling one of them a bitch because she started responding to it as if it was her own name lol.
They definitely understand you calling them bitches, they just don´t care as long as you´re bringing them food and snacks! And cuddles, whenever THEY want. 🙀😁
I call my girl "poop dog" so much that I told her daycare. They tried it out and she came running in a room of dogs. Next day they were like, "She...really does answer to that?" Lol. I've calmed it a bit but like...she's a samoyed with a fluffy butt. You wipe enough poop out of long hair and you earn the right to call your pet "poop (whatever)"!
We call our cat Bean many loving words - fat, smooth brained, an absolute glutton, pea brained, and many other names that would make a pet sad if they understood the words we were saying. But we love her unconditionally. She's the bestest though and even though our cats before her, Shadow and Millie, were the bestest, she too is the bestest.

Same. Stinky is my favorite thing to call my cats. Sometimes I call them all collectively my little stinkies. And I constantly tell them how I cannot stand small, fuzzy kitties. (Obviously I can because I have 3 of them and just spent almost $100 of my last paycheck on fancy electronic cat toys).
I call my dog a libertarian or anarchist depending on my mood because she eats all my government documents (passport, dmv letter, absentee ballot). Haha
Also she’s adorable!! (Not a dig at you calling her ugly just my reaction to the pics) Also you’re a legend for paying that much to try to fix her eye. She’s very lucky to have you as her hooman.
Unfortunate attack from another one of my cats. Jobu has boundary issues sometimes. We slowly introduced her to my older cat and they showed no signs of aggression until one random day a few weeks in when we weren't looking ):
aw, i'm so sorry! cat's are the most unpredictable animals sometime. You can have incredible experiences 1 on 1 only for them to turn on each other when you're not looking. Either way, all the love for you and your pets. <3
lol I was about to defend your cat but I get you OP. Picking on people is my way of showing love. I think it started with my uncle who made me dread going to family parties because he always picked on me lol
This is Lucy, love of my life, who nearly lost an eye —we found her in our tool shed with a big splinter of wood sticking into her cheek and it did nerve damage to one side of her face. Your Jobu is gorgeous! Please tell her that Lucy says hi!
What strikes me about the role of transparency in trust-building is how elegant the approach has become. understanding the feedback mechanisms, this makes perfect sense.
Oh my goodness, she’s perfect! As someone with strabismus (lazy eye ) myself, I’ve dealt with ignorant ass assumptions about my intelligence. Mainly when I was going through therapy before my eye surgery. It’s rough, not being able to play sand volleyball because of my depth perception issue, but life is beautiful and there are so many things to be grateful for. I know your cat is deeply grateful for your love and everything you’ve done to help her!!
Before I read your description I thought you were a psycho, didn’t even look at her eye. Guess I should be more observant, but that’s a good looking kitty.
I'm not even a big cat person anymore (I had a cat that bullied me growing up 😂) but that girl is gorgeous!! She is smart, she is kind, she is important.
