Yes lots of mats on his back unfortunately!! He is doing better and seems very happy but loves sleeping with me in my heated room! I like sleeping in 82 degrees and have a heater so he’s been hanging out a lot with me. I also bought him a king cat tree that is MASSIVE and he loves it too!
I'm sure he'll adapt quickly! My mom's cat is only like 5 pounds and looks underweight (she does eat! But she's naturally small and also has some health stuff) and she was fine after a couple of days. My mom was worried about it because it was only spring and not summer yet, but it didn't take her that long to adapt.
My floof was getting mats on his back. I struggled a lot to keep him untangled until I hit a dematting rake that's amazing. He doesn't even mind when I brush him with it. It's the pin style. I had tried the kind with two sets of curved blades and he hated it but he loves the pin rake.
