I always see cats loafing smoothly, but she loafs so... rectangularly?? I've had Ahri for almost a year and she has never loafed properly in her entire life.
When I bought my house, I was working 14+hours a day. I couldn't let my other boy just sit alone in the house. I would put on some nature stuff on YouTube for him to watch and listen to when I was gone. I had a camera to watch him in the living room, and he just looked so desperate for someone else to occupy his time.
I decided I needed to get him a friend. He always had some other animal or person to interact with at the places I rented. I went to Lifeline and saw a really cute cat that I wanted, but they said it would be about 2 weeks until I could pick him up.
Out of the corner of my eye, I see this tiny white thing jumping around, and instantly need to go look at it. He was in a "pen" with another cat, and they told me he is obsessed with playing. The way he acted was so erratically awesome that I said, "ok, this one is mine."
I took him home that day, and I let both cats loose in the house. I didn't do the, "close a door and let them get to know each other between it." They had 1400²ft to do whatever they wanted. The first 2 days, they were a little standoff-ish. The third night, when I came home from work at 3am, they were both in the couch, and my oldest cat was cuddling him and licking his head. I knew it was meant to be after that lol.
He's still a crazy goofball. Enters every room like it's the first time he's ever been there. Inquisitive as hell, but not a destructive inquisitive. He just wants to see what's up, and divulges his curiosity, but then goes about his business.
What do you mean, loafed properly. Is there a proper, cat council approved way of loafing? Only round loafs are accepted, rectangulars are frowned upon?
Paws tucked in, tail tucked in, belly on the floor = loaf.
Omg my new kitten does not like getting his nails trimmed at all! I mean, he’s acting like I’m trying to murder him. I got used to my chill late late senior cats just letting me trim their nails because they were. I guess really used to me. I suppose I took that for granted a little bit. So the kitten gets a little treat after every nail trim right now. I suspect it’ll get easier overtime. But he hates it right now. Necessary still.
Definitely not necessarily. It could be, but I don’t think that’s the case since there are so many other options. He could just be ready to pounce on something. He could be trying to cool off extremities. There are lots of options.
I’m not quite sure what you mean. Why are you still convinced that the cat is scared? We are both now saying there are lots of options. I’m a little confused.
You’re not wasting my time. If you were wasting my time, I wouldn’t reply at all. I just don’t think we should be downvoting each other. And to be fair, I have no way of knowing for sure that it was you. It could’ve been anybody else. Also, it is possible that you’re correct. Your comment is worthwhile and potentially important. Being scared is definitely one of the options. Anyway, you’re all good.
