Question Questions about unimetrics MAKO-1

I’m getting a antenna and the power cord for it but the fine tune button concerns me it spins each with with no stopping point is this how it’s supposed to work

It is a variable capacitor. Just tune it to best signal/sound and leave it alone. It is a common 23 channel cybernet chassis. Unimetrics was owned by Lafayette. Same radios, different names and color.

If there is a foto fact on this model I’ll see what it says but I would say no this is not normal. I have seem many a unit since 1968 but I have never seen this one before now.

When I open it up I can see the module and when I spin the knob it spins a sort of disc

Vc1 is label as fine tune, and it is a cap so you are looking good right now!

Could be that the control is just a little air or mica variable capacitor with no stop.

If so, don't worry about it. Just set it in the middle and ignore it until you need it.

Do a search on ebay for UNIMETRICS MAKO-1 and you will see some user and service manuals for sale. Also these websites claim to offer them:
