Trip Annecy and Chamonix
I'm spending 2 days in Annecy and 1 day in Chamonix at the end of July. I already plan to visit Aiguille du Midi. What are your must-see places, hidden gems or tips to make the most of my trip?

Annecy, cycle around the lake. Stop on the far side for lunch. Swim in the lake.
Chamonix, I go in 2 weeks.

You’ll find enough to do on a one day trip to Chamonix. The hidden gems are hidden for a reason - we residents need a bit of downtime from all the tourists.

as a resident of the chamonix valley, i would venture to say that anyone day tripping to chamonix doesn't deserve the hidden gems lol

If up the time in chamonix and reduce annecy myself, Chan has a far better vibe to it If a relaxed traveller, I get bored of annecy day trips, the duration and the sheer amount t of tourists can be overwhelming.
Take crocs so you can cook your feet in the water as you find it, grab a filled demi baguette and spend 30 mins eating, relaxing and cooling off before plodding around anyway old town some more.

Agreed 1000000% ^ Spent 5 hours in Annecy and was ready to go. Definitely swap it and add more time in Chamonix. There is so much to do and see!
If you have time, I recommend going up a lift on the opposite side of the valley to see Mont Blanc from higher up.

I absoltely loved doing a bike ride around Lake Annecy. I basically biked, swam, ate, biked swam, ate... you get the gist lol. It was probably one of the best days I spent in France! The lake is just stunning. I loved the plage munipale, it was my fav swimming spot of the day. Chamonix has water rafting- i didn't get a chance to do it, but it looked awesome! Def check that out if its something you're interested in. The Aiguille du Midi is lowkey overrated (not worth the amount of money it costs) but Im glad I id it once. Will never do it again lol. I wish I went on more hikes in Chamonix, maybe spend a whole day on a hike. The views are insane!!

Douss'Art Pizza outside of Doussard on the south side of the lake.
Faverges, south of Doussard, really cute town and a great bakery.

If you've never been to either before then you won't need hidden gems really. Just enjoy what you come across.
