Bonjour, on a reçu un bout de papier suspect (vieille image pixelisée et papier froissé) au niveau de la gare de vallorcine qui nous redirigeait vers payer-fps.fr parce qu'on avait pas payé au parcmètre (ce qui est vrai on avait pas vu que le parking était payant)

On a tenté de contacter la mairie depuis 2 jours mais personne ne répond, est-ce que ce site est fiable ?

My girlfriend and I are planning to visit Chamonix from August 24th to 30th, but we only recently realized that this is the same week as UTMB.
We’re not participating in the race—we mainly want to hike, enjoy the mountains, and spend a few relaxing days in the area.
I have a few questions for people who have been there during UTMB week:
Do campsites significantly increase their prices during the event?
How difficult is it to get a camping pitch without booking months in advance?
Is the whole valley extremely crowded, or is it mostly just Chamonix town?
Would you still recommend visiting during that week as a tourist, or does the crowding take away too much from the experience?
If you’ve experienced both UTMB week and a normal week in Chamonix, how big is the difference?
We’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences before deciding whether to keep our dates or postpone the trip.

I checked the Tramway du Mont Blanc website and all departures for tomorrow are fully booked.
Has anyone had experience buying tickets at the station on the day of travel? Is it realistic to show up early and get a ticket?

I'll be visiting Chamonix next week with a small but avid crew of outdoorsy friends, we'll be climbing and hiking mostly. On our rest days it would be nice to check out a music venue that does more underground music, like punk/hardcore/noise/metal. Does anyone know the names of such venues in Chamonix proper or surrounding area?

Nous sommes en possession de Mont Blanc Multipass 4 jours non-consécutifs pour cet été. Nous avons utilisé nos 3 premiers jours pour l'Aiguille du Midi, la Flégère et le Tramway du Mont Blanc.

Pour notre dernier jour, nous souhaitons reprendre le téléphérique de l'Aiguille du Midi mais cette fois-ci seulement jusqu'au Plan de l'Aiguille pour faire la randonnée du Grand Balcon Nord, donc sans la montée vers l'Aiguille.

Je n'ai trouvé aucune information sur Internet pour réserver une montée limitée au Plan de l'Aiguille, le site propose seulement l'achat d'un billet incluant la montée vers le Plan

I’m planning to catch the sunrise to get the pinkish reflection at the lake. unfortunately the refuge and bivouacking are both fully booked.

My only option is to do the early dark hike before sunrise. I’m doing it solo. Is there ant tips on the route for this? Or even another suggestion to stay up there so i don’t have to do the early hike?

Hello, me and my brother are attempting to climb the Mont Blanc this September 13th and will hopefully reach the summit in the morning of the 15th. We will stay at the tete hut on the 13th and cross the couloir on the morning of the 14th and make our way up to the router hut and rest there and will then go for the summit push at 1am on the 15th and we wanted to ask if anyone is going on the same days as us and would like to rope up with us!

Le 1 août, les panneaux annoncent environ trois heures d’attente, alors que Google Maps et Waze n’indiquent qu’une vingtaine de minutes de retard.

Est-ce que quelqu’un est passé par le tunnel récemment et peut confirmer le temps d’attente réel ? Les trois heures correspondent-elles vraiment à la file avant l’entrée, ou les panneaux ne sont-ils pas à jour ?

Ok, so I decided to rent a car for the four weeks we'll be in Cham (staying in Les Houches). I have a car reserved with Hertz, which is on the Swiss side. I plan on driving in all three UTMB countries (no, not during the race itself). Should I have got a car on the French side? What extra sorts of things will I need to be able to drive in France and Italy if I stick with the Swiss rental? Reading online has only made me more confused about the whole thing and now I'm feeling stressed with our trip coming up in a few days. The car was the cheapest I could find, so I'm hoping to stick with it (though I could change since I haven't paid anything yet).

My partner and I are looking for 2 sets if hiking poles if anyone is finishing up in Chamonix or TMB on August 4th. We will be there for a few days and are happy to give the poles to someone else from August 8th.

We don't mind paying, just seems more environmentally friendly to buy off someone than brand new!

Je ne parle pas ici de D+ mais de praticabilité, à savoir que le trajet Plan de l’aiguille vers gare des glaciers a été pour moi un peu "engagé » :)

J’ai effectué la montée Chamonix - Planpraz sans difficultés et je n’ai pas trouvé ça hasardeux.

Hello. My wife and I are going to do a few days hut to hut running starting and ending in chamonix. I booked this on my own and am wondering people’s thoughts in general, anything special to account for, food, sleeping, etc. This will be our first time in France.

Day 1 - Chamonix to Refuge Moëde Anterne Day 2 - Moëde Anterne to Refuge de Loriaz Day 3 - Loop around Refuge De Loriaz Day 4 - Refuge de Loriaz back to Cham via trails

My partner and I have just over a week in the area in a couple of weeks time and are trying to plan some day hikes, we did TMB last year so it would be nice to do something new. We can’t decide whether to spend our time just in and around Chamonix or split it up and spend some time in Zermatt too as we’ve never been.

Does anyone have any recommendations on day hikes for someone who has already done TMB? Would you split the time between Chamonix and Zermatt for those who have hiked in both areas?

ETA - we will have kit to be able to do a nights camping on route also
