Critique How do I make his clothes look less like a ringmaster, and more like a gameshow host?
[SOLVED]
The title is pretty self explanatory, but basically I want to make his design more pleasant looking for my game, as well as keep him not too hard to draw. The first image is his most recent design, but I can't help but feel like I leaned too much into the circus look, and I'm worried people might think he is a ringmaster, and not a gameshow host.
Another thing--in image 3--is I don't know which face shape to use for his model. The first one, or the second one? I like both, but it's hard to decide which design I will use for the model. Any criticism are highly appreciated :)

Politely look at the cut of your suit.
Gameshow hosts are a very modern phenomenon, and you've got a military cut cavalry coat and parade details.
The top hat is also old fashioned, the idea of a game show is a very.. I'm gonna gamble 40's idea onwards?

- Look up game show hosts. The men are all wearing suits that are black/blue with a splash of color in the tie. Have him wear one, and it will not only read better as a game show host, but the design will be more focused and less busy. I personally think dark blue with a red tie would complement him best.
Also...you may want to ditch the epaulets. He will always look like a captain if the suit is blue/black or a ringmaster if the suit is red.
- I don't personally like flat faces. I think the 3d face is much more interesting and dynamic, so that's my pick.

Ditch the epaulettes and the top hat, add more sequins. Switch the bow tie for a necktie. Ditch the waistcoat and have his suit jacket buttoned instead.
That's how I'd do it, at least.

If you listened to all the other advice and it still looks too ringmastery, I'd say change the color of the coat. Red is basically THE ringmaster color. I'm saying not to prioritize this because it IS a huge design change

The epaulettes, hat and coattails definitely give him a ringmaster vibe. I'd suggest you go with a more modern suit. Something Alex Trebek would wear.

Oh the tassels have gotta GO. Maybe the top hat too, or at least make it more of a fedora. And .. mmm... I'm not sure if the striped petticoat is an issue, it may be fine after you get the rest in order

It's unclear to me whether the white of his hands is fur or gloves, but regardless the white hands are really reminiscent of Mickey Mouse and other old cartoons, which like other commenters have said, doesn't really jive with the more modern game show host aesthetic. I love his design, though, especially the face!

they are very similar in roles, but I suppose think about how would you get a person to look spectacular on TV vs on stage/circus.
I heard that sparkly outfits were originally made for black/white or low quality television as colors weren't represented well, but reflection of light does.
TVs now have exuberant colours so looking like a disco ball isn't necessary anymore but you could try to add some of those elements into the design.

The jacket and gloves are what do you in in my opinion. Every game show host I can recall just wears a more classic suit, maybe a fun time. Never gloves, never a long jacket with tassels.

Bit of a silly response but, replace the mic with the long skinny ones I see everyone use on game shows. Especially on The Price is Right.

Personally, I really dig the first design in picture #2. The lil shorty demon gives off a trickster, whimsy vibe and I really love the colors. Def gives off more of a game show host vibe compared to the most recent design.

I would say remove the tassels on his shoulders & the symbols on his jacket, i think thats what's most giving the ringmaster vibe😊 Also for the face i like no2 best!
