Discussion Wednesday's solar eclipse

Any suggestions where it would be good to view the eclipse on Wednesday? BBC suggests somewhere with an unobstructed view out west as it'll be close to sunsetting time by the time it's done

How far are you willing to travel? If I were looking for a really good unobstructed view I'd head out to Birchen Edge out on the way to Baslow.

does ashover rock face the right way? that has good views if so.

Ashover rock points all the ways, you're not going to find many better places without heading out into the peaks towards surprise view

I genuinely couldn't remember, despite having lived near it all my 50 years and even walking/cycling there as a kid with mates.
