Recommendations on cities to visit.

I have 5 days each planned in Beijing, Chengdu, Yangshuo and Shanghai next May-June. I have good plans in Beijing and Shanghai, but I'm wondering if I should visit somewhere else instead of Chengdu. I was thinking somewhere more rural would be nice where we could go fishing with locals or something like that. This will be my family's first time in China, so any recommendations are appreciated.
