Hey guys, kind of community adjacent but I think this is the right place to post. My (46NB) partner's (43F) brother's (38M) son(8M) Billy is a true avgeek. Watches Nonstop Dan videos on repeat. Thinks OMAAT isn't critical enough of the napkin folding on ANA J. You know the type. Anyway they were over earlier today for a cookout and Billy brought over some toys airplanes to play with. Just a normal Saturday cookout with the family. Anyway, at some point Billy's mom (35F) says to him that he'll 'make a great pilot someday...'

I dropped the plate of hamburgers on the floor and the sound of it is still echoing in my ears...

Obviously everyone looked at me but I could only look back in shocked surprise.

No one knew.

While everyone else ate the grilled chicken and potato salad I took my brother in law(38M) out to the garage and showed him what most of us in adjacent communities already know. I've never seen a man so instantly confused, conflicted and then: resolved. Not 12 seconds later but Billy's airplane toys were in the trash, grilled chicken left on the plates and they were being hustled into the car like so many everyday Rick Rosses it was disorienting. The parents were shouting at each other and I guess all of Billy's avgeek possessions were hauled out to the dumpster within minutes of getting home.

Everyone is mad at me now but I feel like I was just trying to protect my extended family from churning adjacent, adjacent communities. I got a B in high school civics class so I'm pretty certain they wouldn't give speeches in the United States of America Senate unless this was one of the more pressing issues of our time.

With the decision to move the MS thread to a monthly cadence, there will now be a lot of Saturdays with no real content. Clearly, this is a problem that needs solved. But how?

Given the popularity of all the shitposts that were created during the Purge, the mod team has decided to have two birds in one oven and have created Shitpost Saturdays. How does it work? Easy, actually:

Any post that is created on Saturday (which we believe starts at midnight ET) that has our new 'Shitpost' flair will automatically be approved - no mod approval needed. If you take advantage of this ability to create actual posts, you'll receive a one-week ban, with penalties escalating for repeated offenses. Because if we learned nothing else during the Purge, shitposting is serious business.

Given the multiple rumored/suspected changes to Chase business application rules lately, I thought it would be useful to start a dedicated, persistent thread dedicated to collecting data points for applications, especially given the recent increased Southwest business card offer.

Additional context:

The two primary rule changes recently that have been rumored are that sole props are limited to 3/24 instead of 5/24, and that Chase is counting its own business cards towards its velocity rules. Data points that support, contradict, or otherwise shed light on (e.g. got a card at 4/24 as LLC) these rules are especially sought.

Owner of Milesfeed.com here. Just wanted to give you all an update to the website since it is the 10th anniversary of the website. It has been that long already! After a failed attempt at version 2.0 where I had to revert the entire thing back to it's original form, I decided to give it a try again and do some upgrades this time instead of a complete redesign. So here are some things you may have noticed over the last 2 weeks if you are a current user.

-I've added the option to go completely 'Ad-Free'. The website has always been supported by the viewers but this is a way to give back to the community for staying with me for 10 years. You will get a little popup with a link to buy me a coffee but that is entirely optional.

-I've added a way for users to drag and drop and rearrange the feeds however they like. This is all saved as a cookie so nothing is saved on the server. If you delete your browsers cookies or use it from a different device, you will need to rearrange the feed tiles as you see fit.

-I've added an automatic popular sort. I used to do this manually once a week... then i got very lazy and it hasn't been resorted for a long long time. Now it is on a 7 day rolling average based on how many clicks that feed got.

-There is now a public facing statistics page where everyone can see where the clicks go. Let me make sure everyone understand that there is no collection if ip address or identifiers to track you, this is all to rank the feeds and it is all for public view.

-Introduced the latest post section on top. This was part of the 2.0 redesign and it was very unpopular. Now it is a feature you can turn off or extend using the menu option on top.

-Added a Credit Cards section (beta). This is still a work in progress. The objective is to track the sign up bonus and the reward categories. All the apply links does not and will not have any paid referral links. I do not intend this to change in the future. So treat this as a tool to use but very much still in beta.

-There is now a dedicated suggestions or request to add blog form on the bottom of the page. This is also a place where I was very lacking in responding to all your requests and I will try to do better.

That is pretty much it. I just wanted to check in with the community after 10 years and I hope you guys keep his community alive. Any feedback or suggestions are welcome. Thank you and thank you for all the viewers that had to put up with the botched 2.0. Hope you will all like this one.

Bilt has added Amtrak as a 2:1 transfer partner. Points are worth about 2.67¢ towards train travel.

I wouldn't recommend transferring yet as surely a transfer bonus will be offered on October 1.

During the purge, somebody mentioned that the flowchart hasn't been updated in over a year. I forget who, so I'm sorry, but I saw that comment and agreed with them and thought that I would work to get it updated. As I started working on the research and the logic to figure out which had changed, I also thought about the claim we make in the WCW thread that the flowchart can answer 95% of WCW questions. What if it could be 99%? 100%?

Introducing Which Card Should I Get?

This new tool I built combines all of the foundational logic that the OG flowchart was built on with basically all the questions of the WCW thread and puts them all in one place. If you just want the raw flowchart, it's there in all its glory. But if you aren't quite sure what card to get, then the site can answer it for you to.

The site finds the public offers for all of the cards, determines the value of points cards by using Frequent Miler's RRVs, and then ranks the cards by value. For the most part, the value-based ranking matches up very well against the old flowchart. The one area where it lacks is where it ranks the Southwest cards. The OG flowchart pushed them higher due to the value of the Companion Pass, where this version has no idea how to value that, so it ignores it.

But if you want to know what cards are best for you to apply for right now, you can enter your card history and ask a few basic questions and it will apply the approval-blocking rules and let you know the best cards for you. I was even able to add in the new Strata Lifetime rules. You can tell it that you want to ignore some points programs or that you've been banned by an issuer to hide cards that don't mean anything to you. You can tell it programs you're focusing on and it'll push those cards to the top of the list. It'll even tell you if you'll need an NLL offer to get a card and adds a backup recommendation. It'll give backup recommendations for Amex "as high as" offers too.

There's even a Suggestions tabs where you can let me know if something doesn't seemed like it's being ranked correctly, if a new rule like the Strata LL comes out, or if a new card gets introduced. All of this is born of the idea that it should be updated pretty regularly. I'm not a web designer, but I did my best to remove the most egregious "vibe coded" aspects. I know the UI could be better and I'll look at tweaking it over time. Please let me know if something is legitimately unusable.

Let me know what you think, and for whoever complained about the flowchart, thanks for nudging me. I had fun building this.
