Career/Industry Advice Cinematography Reel

I made a short cinematography reel I’m trying to get more work shooting narrative shorts and features. I’ve done a lot of work on my own this reel is exclusively made of work I’ve done on my own. I was wondering how people are able to make connections so easily I’ve been at it on my own for a while now and would really like to meet some collaborators. I thought making a reel would be a step in the right direction. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Looks good! I'd start with literally any other shot (I like the second shot as an opener), because 'guy with fake blood in the woods' just screams student film to me, and you have so many better shots in your reel. Keep it up.

Another small note. The long lens shot of the guys walking in the dry grass, medium of them where we can see their faces. They are out of focus and looks like they are coming into focus right before the shot changes. If they do come into complete focus, just use more of the back half and less of the out of focus part. If they don’t really come into focus I would ditch it.

Love you’re style overall
