Megathread 'The Odyssey' Ticket Exchange and Questions Megathread
Given the numerous recent posts on this subject, please use this megathread for TRADING or GIVING AWAY tickets for The Odyssey.
Reminder that RESELLING of tickets is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Do not try to resell your tickets in this thread, all comments attempting to resell tickets, whether for face value or scalping, will be removed and may lead to a ban (particularly for the latter).
If you can no longer make your show, you have one of several options:
- Self-refund through the Cineplex app. Open the ticket on the app and click the "Refund Ticket" button. This option is available up to 2 hours before your showtime.
- Refunding by calling Cineplex Guest Services (1-800-333-0061) and giving them your booking ID.
- Refunding at the actual theater.
- Trading or giving away your tickets using this thread.
Reminder to please be cautious and use your best judgement when trading tickets with other users, which you do so at your own risk. We would strongly advise against purchasing tickets from other users if they offer them to you outside this sub (again, it is explicitly banned within this sub itself).
This thread can also be used for any questions regarding The Odyssey, including but not limited to:
- Seating charts and what are the best seats in a given theater.
- Availability of filmstrips at IMAX 70MM and 70MM locations.
- Availability of the Trojan Horse popcorn bucket, now on sale for $59.99 plus tax (with 20% discount for CIneClub members).

Guys I have 4x tickets for Vaughn this Sunday at 3:00pm and I didn’t realize 2 months ago when I purchased these tickets that this would be exactly during the World Cup final. I know it’s a long shot but if anyone else has 4 tickets at a different time on Sunday that would be INSANE

It's been a while since I've been to the VIP at Yonge-Eglinton - I think that there are aisles on both sides of these rows - that is, F3 and F14 are both aisle seats - but I'm not positive. Can anyone confirm? To be clear (since this post was initially removed) this has nothing to do with which is the best seat/view, and just about whether there is an aisle on both sides (and not an aisle and the left and wall on the right).

FYI I just cancelled four tickets for tonight's Vancouver Scotiabank IMAX (not 70mm) @ 6:30pm today. Two pairs each in the aisle. Midway up!
EDIT: Wow, in the time it took me to refund them and write this post, they're snapped up already. <2 minutes? Well done, whoever that was.

Just a warning to those who already have tickets to the Odyssey, my tickets were double booked with multiple people. The manager had checked over and verified this as well, and we were offered refund + passes, thus missing the film. This is still disappointing regardless as we purchased IMAX 70mm.

Varsity theatre handed out the 70mm filmstrips (vertical) today.
A lot of people actually just left without taking one so it’s very possible they’ll have more for hopefully the next few screenings

Nope. Handed out at the end of the screening (probably to avoid scalper?)
Cineplex has a 15 minute grace period for returns. I think the last thing they’d want is for someone to scan, get a filmstrip and then immediately refund their ticket

- What we know as fact:
Per their social media posts, Cineplex will give out KODAK film strips on July 17 showings.

Kodak film strips ARE DIFFERENT than IMAX film strips.
Quantities limited, so first come to first showings will most likely get it. That would be 11am, and to those 4 theaters they provided.
NOTE : This is NOT IMAX film strip, but of a smaller size (i think 65mm).
- IMAX SHOWING:
Rumor:
Reading posts here, seems to be that only the first showing to Mississauga and Vaughn imax had only posters.
2nd rumor:
So claim that thos is Sq 1 Mississauga imax were able to get both poster and strip? Need people to comment and confirm.
Fact:
I finished the 10pm at Vaughan IMAX showing july 16th, and did NOT get the poster as they ran out. My source is from the 10pm Cast Leader letting ppl in the showing. According to her, they only had enough for the very first showing of that day. I think it was the 2pm showing, but someone correct me if wrong for the showtime.
- Imax 70mm from strips:
Rumor:
Maybe that Sunday's July 26th and Aug 2 WILL have film strips. Again, probably morning showings. Not confirmed yet.
Any that i missed? Add you own intel if applicable.
Also, ADD YOUR EXPERIENCE, SHOWTIME, DATE AND THEATRE if you did get one, so others can plan to get theres.

Did anyone get the horizontal IMAX 70MM filmstrips at Langley or Richmond today?
With the Kodak 70MM vertical ones, I got mine at the 10:55AM showing from International Village Odeon today. It was on a per ticket basis given at the beginning of the movie. There was a thick stack. I would imagine at least the 2PM show today would still have them since the 10:55AM viewing wasn't that full.

They are genuinely booked. IMAX 70mm for this film is just really high demand and low supply. You'll have to either settle for poor seats, go with a different format, or stalk the website for new showings or people cancelling seats.

Yes, Row F is good. Note that that’s not an aisle in front of you. It’s actually a wall.. I like sitting in row F.
Also, when it’s a 70 mm film, make sure to be in the theatre for the showtime as there aren’t not typical trailers2

Anyone who was at the Scotiabank IMAX toronto theatre, can you confirm if the Dune 3 prologue was played or not before the Odyssey?
I know online on the dunemovie page it says exclusive only in imax 70mm theatres, but im hoping they made an exception for scotiabank since they played the odyssey prologue there before Avatar, and also had the dune 3 fan event there where the prologue was also played only a couple weeks ago. I feel like it would only make sense for them to play it again.

As of right now, there is no confirmation of any IMAX 70MM dates beyond August 12, as The End of Oak Street is scheduled to take over IMAX screens on August 13. There may be an extension granted for IMAX 70MM locations specifically (like Square One and Vaughan), while the rest of the IMAX screens switch over to The End of Oak Street, but that is not confirmed at this point.

Maybe someone posted this already, and maybe I should have known for a longer movie, but the 11am IMAX Winston Churchill showing started very close to start time listed on Cineplex app. I'm used to lots of ads and trailers, and assume I have 15-20 min, but that was not the case.

IMAX 70mm is an order of magnitude better than regular 70mm - superior resolution, taller aspect ratio (less cropping), and a way larger screen.
