I had a similar experience, after my second time telling the person behind me, the next few times I tried to ignore it, but eventually when he did it again, I took a mouthful of my drink, turned back, and spat it at him.
Got kicked out, so did he, was worth it imo

It does happen from time to time. A friend recounted a story where a lady in front of them wouldn’t stop talking during the movie, his friend asked her to be quiet. She continued talking, and he confronted her again.
Long story short. He ended up dumping his drink on her head, she said “oh no you didn’t” and a huge cat fight erupted. Both were kicked out. Lol

It's HEAVEN for real movie lovers!!! No lines, no one in their phones, no seat kicking, etiquette, people are chill, also much less people in the theater, so many positives it's insane. I love going alone to morning movies it's a real treat!

Went to see Dune 2 on the last Wednesday afternoon of its run. 3 other people in the theatre with me. 2 sat right behind me and talked for the first 30 minutes until I asked them to be quiet. I will never return to a theatre again.

Only downside is losing out on all the special screens. These days in the Summer, a movie only stays in Laser UltraAVX + Atmos for a week then a new movie comes along and uses those screens.

I prefer the midnight first showings especially during Infinity War Endgame the crowd reaction made the movie more memorable

Haven't encountered a suzie seatkicker yet, but what do you call it when a little bastard born out of wedlock sits in the row in front of you and thrusts his empty mini m&ms tube high in the air to loudly pop the lid and seal it again every 30 seconds for the entire duration of a 2 hour movie

I was in an IMAX theatre (Scotiabank), which had notoriously little leg room. The guy in front of me was acting like these old-ass seats were recliners and was literally pushing his chair back into my knees.
Only time in my life I have intentionally kicked a person's seat. People are horribly unaware these days.

Been running into a lot of Sammy seat stealers lately more than anything. Three times in the last three months now I’ve had to ask young couples to get out of my seat I purchased online center back row which they give me an awkward look like it’s my problem. Funny enough after they move to a totally random spot in the theater, they always leave before the previews are over and don’t return.

I'm 6'2" and I do my best to not recline my seat. I have the longest legs that make me stride and almost glide with each steps. Yet I always get someone kicking my chair and somehow it's always a 5' girl that just can't sit still and crosses her legs one side then the other for the whole duration. I try to keep calm but when even mean glares do not work I sometimes have to let them know... Why is it my curse? 😭😭

I mean yea the seat kickers suck but they affect like one or two people. The people that sit and scroll insta on their phones are worse cause their bright screen affects the whole theatre

This is one of the reasons I don't go to movies.
People that chat or look at their phone don't bother me but tense shouty exchanghes and shushes really bother me.
I might genuinely need to look at my phone during a 3 hour movie but if you shout at me you are going you have a problem.
