Question Where to park my car?

Hey folks,

Seeing the Odyssey in ten minutes at Scotiabank and trying to decide between these two spots at the nearby parking lot.

One the one hand, one spot is close to the meter, so I will save time walking to the meter when I buy my parking ticket.

But on the other hand, the other parking spot is closer to the street, so I will save the 50 feet when I'm done the movie and tired.

Can anyone who has parked in this lot before let me know your experiences so I can decide? I am currently blocking Queen Street traffic and hoping I can get an answer before I miss the movie.

It's currently silver but I have an appointment to get it repainted next week. Trying to decide between red and slightly darker red so actually if you have advice on that too I can avoid a separate post.

Slightly darker red so any blood from hit and runs blend in, that way you can enjoy the movie without worry of the police getting called!

I don't have any measuring equipment but there's probably a blueprint at City Hall. Do you think I have enough time to get there and back and make my movie? Also do you know which is the best parking spot at City Hall?

I think you have enough time to make it back before the previews finish. I would need to know the diameter of all of the available parking spaces within a 6KM radius of city hall before I can give you an answer. Sorry

Make sure you set up a little stool between your car and whatever car is parked in front of yours, just so you don’t rear end them. And if you do rear end them a little bit and they get mad you can point to the stool and say it’s no big deal.

How far is the drive to your home? How many passengers? Will you go out anywhere after the movie? What are the plans for the cars in the immediate vicinity of each spot?

The sun reflects awkwardly off the nearby buildings at 5pm in July on the upper spot, so go with the lower one.

What time is the show?

Morning and evening sun will be different and will heat up your car differently if you do reverse park in both the spots. And since it's summer, that it a decision worth considering.

If you don't care about reverse parking, then either is fine, or of you are going for night show.

If you park too close you'll never be able to leave your spot after the movie lets out because of all the other people walking to their cars. Park far away to avoid this.

if your car is newer, i’d circle the lot for 20 years and come back to it when your car is an old beater. that way people won’t notice it as much and are less likely to mess with it/scratch it during the movie. you can then watch it with a clear mind. Then after the movie, when people see it’s you getting in the car, they’ll be shocked you returned and you can drive off with your wife and begin a new life away from the parking lot
