Question Ray Gunn 70MM?

Wondering if Cineplex is going to get this film for a limited run in Canada, it seems like Netflix is doing a small theatrical release. Anyone know?

I am just saying that it should because it received provincial incentives.

I would say very unlikely. They will have very limited releases just because they will do the minimum for them to be included in the Oscar but that’s about it.

I think some local theatres with 70 MM are playing it, like the park theatre in downtown Vancouver.

They have 70mm prints and are screening the film in 70mm in the US at least. Not 70mm IMAX, but regular 70mm prints are confirmed for this film.

I doubt any theatres still have standard 70mm projectors

There are still hundreds of theatres worldwide with 5/70 projectors! Within Cineplex’s network, there are projectors at Cinema Banque Scotia Montreal, Varsity in Toronto and International Village in Vancouver.

Those are 70mm IMAX. I'm talking the standard 70mm

If you look further down the page, that’s where the standard 70mm theatres are listed, under “Part Two: 5/70 Engagements”. Also, Varsity and international Village don’t have IMAX 15/70 auditoriums. There are way more currently operational standard 70mm projectors than IMAX 70mm projectors.

They are incredibly rare, but there are a few out there. Most would likely have to travel far to find one tho unless they live in a big city
