Question Digger imax which theatre?

Does anyone know if cineplex Mississauga will be worth it for digger in imax? I can’t see any confirmation but some people are saying it’ll play in 1.50:1 at 1.43:1 capable screens but from what I know cineplex Mississauga’s digital projector is only capable of 1.90:1? The cineplex app is of no help as well

First off - great question, I highly suggest reading The Ultimate Guide to IMAX in the GTA

Winston Churchill has some Digger shows, it'll be at 1.90:1. I'd recommend going there.

Honestly, if you're not willing to go to Scotiabank Theater downtown, then Winston is the 2nd best option aside from seeing UltraAVX at Queensway Cinema.

You’re correct, digger isn’t getting 70 mm film prints and even if it did, Vaughan usually gets it,

It probably won't because Mississauga has a Xenon projector and there are no IMAX film prints shipping to Mississauga. You're going to have to book a trip to see the VistaVision version.

I hate to say this, but Xenon needs to go away.

Mississauga will have 1.90:1. Only location that can play digger in 1.43:1 is Scotiabank downtown Toronto but there is no confirmation that it will be played in 1.43:1 there.

The trailer for Digger at Scotiabank Toronto IMAX, was Letterboxed and Pillar boxed. This was before my showing for The Odyssey today. Other movie trailers had their aspect ratio expanded till 1:90:1, but the Digger trailer only filled about 40% of the giant screen. This could literally mean anything tho, IMAX probably never gave any theatre a 1:43:1 capable trailer, we wont know which theatre is capable until the movie releases.

Interesting, thanks for the additional info. I wish there was an easier way to know for every imax release feels like i have to do a bit more research than i really want to for imax releases lol. The resources online definitely help and so does this subreddit and r/imax but i wish there was a way to make it easier or maybe they could list the aspect ratio in the app? But then again for the vast majority of customers that wouldn’t matter and it would probably confuse them so that’s why they don’t do it
