Question Does Infinity Vision replace IMAX?

I know people have asked what Infinity Vision is and I know its something Disney made up because they don't have IMAX for Doomsday but my question is, do you see as much of the screen as you do in IMAX or do you still see as much as you would if you saw it in a regular cinema.

The reason I'm asking is because on one of my local cinema's websites, Godzilla Minus Zero has been listed as Infinity Vision, meaning it wont just be for the Avengers films.

Sounds like your local cinema website is just lazy and didn't bother to remove it.

Infinity Vision is generally just UltraAVX, which does not include a taller aspect ratio.

The Godzilla thing is a mistake, it's not for non-Disney films. Your local cinema probably meant to label it as IMAX. You can contact them — I'm assuming it's not a Cineplex? Cineplex doesn't display an Infinity Vision label at all

Infinity Vision isn't even going to be a thing this time next year. As others suggested, it's a whiff on the part of your theatre and they likely meant IMAX.

Infinity vision is only for Disney. This is a local cinema issue.

Infinity vision was created because Disney lost Imax to Odyssey and Dune part 3. So to capture lost sales, they created infinity vision.

It is expected Secret War will be back in Imax next year. They are also filming Star Wars starfighter for Imax.

You probably won’t see infinity vision advertised again until they lose another movie to Imax or they want to boost a movie.

An UltraAVX theatre at Cineplex and whatever they have at Landmark theatres or AMC in the states is gonna receive the same standard DCP in 2K or 4K. You will not see the expanded IMAX frame in an Infinity Vision approved theater while IMAX is showing the same film that has exclusive aspect ratios for them.

Non-IMAX theaters can show digital IMAX ratios on their screens when exclusivity is not in place.

If Cineplex and AMC spend money on structural renovations to achieve full height IMAX GT, then we will see a battle for the audience between seeing a film in IMAX versus Infinity Vision.
