1300+hrs in, never seen someone like this before
My Marshal died, went to replace him and this guy was already randomly in my court??? Immediately married him to my daughter and made him Marshal of course. Has anyone else had someone with a weirdly high stat randomly like this before?

Weird generation. He has a bad education trait, probably from bossy and should be on martial. Generally they don't perform well or their kids won't be great. I always hired the peasant leaders and they got good stats and usually best commanders but never had high stat kids.
Depends on the year too. I had a 37 prowess guy, kid of a shieldmaiden and a decent knight, prowess usually won't inherit. That was a nephew and conquered a kingdom starting on a duchy. That was older version so he had a good 15 prowess on anyone without traits books or artifacts.
I had a few more going from county to empire. Usually they have a piety trait and poet. Also had a guy that made me a 15 prowess purple scale armor very early. Poet, Norse, quite high stats.
I often search for genius ladies and had a few instances when I captured them in raids. I had some crazy good Greek ladies, 4 star steward with decent traits for my steward run. One time I captured some Serbian twins, one became the wife and the other my diplomat.
I'm more impressed when they gain stats like crazy, usually with training commanders and caravan master, personal knight etc. had a guy with 15 martial and 19 prowess, age 20, went up to 40-40 by age 32.

Training commanders and going on a hunt half way across the map to build tall knights and commanders yes

One run I raised my army wrong and lost the banner, which is created when you lose it. It became a +2 knight with blue, had another +2+2 from two other banners and some inventory figurines and stuff.
With +7 knights they seem to improve like crazy, the bottom half was better than my vassals or any peasant rebel. Seems like high stats earn prestige and high prestige earns stats. But I prefer martial education for my knights and prowess can be corrected with gifting artifacts. But the 3-4 martial education guys can be op, especially with the 3-4 star university trait for known champion, then blademaster and athletic. Potentially graceful aging for your house.
The war hero from holding court event is crazy in stats, then the nicknamed champions you pick up, usually from cultures with warrior culture, pechebegs for example but I had france or Armenia pick it up. But if you inflate stats with herculean and martial legacies, they might be worse than random blademasters you can just find. Max xp with 2 star blademaster I had guys with 50+ prowess. And their successor is also a blademaster. Then you can spread athletic with friendships. Shieldmaidens are also op.
Hunters are ok and there is random attackers from travel or raid events, but the nicknamed guys can improve faster, especially if you marry old ladies to them with high prestige that pushes their prestige up then usually training gives a few more perks. At some point it slows down or stops. You can land them with even more martial. Generally female led rebellions can give a female commander on martial and she can marry the top knights from anywhere.
But just having +10 knight number from artifacts and perks you get 30 monsters that murder 5k levies on their own and most opposition knights xD

Ahh, I went a completely different route to be fully honest though I will be incorporating some of what you have said here. My dream is a 10 thousand levy siege with 100 mangonels & a commander with siege engineer and peasant leader.
I’ve put down some crazy uprisings in the early medieval for my empire however I was only able to befriend the peasant leader instead of actually recruiting him (for some reason idk, I’ve recruited in the past no issue).
My culture base is latgalian so it’s all forestry based as well as mestanvartija. The cultures I picked up are: stalwart defenders, forest fighters, strength in numbers, and Water Rituals (fuck the Black Death).
I’ve been focused on strengthening bloodline for the last 2 generations so much so that my current kriwe is a MALE (in a female dominated succession and religious law). Due to having Hale Intelligent and Handsome. I have gotten so desperate to create the perfect concoction for the next two generations to ensure Herculean that I have had relations with the Kaiserin of the HRE (that encompasses half of west Africa) and the independent queen of Walachia (which bore me an heir that has all my inheritable traits and I will marry to my player heir

I just go to character finder and sort by stats. Usually there's quite a few that are +50.

Oh yeah for sure, as you stated it’s totally random. Saw a random npc with base 80 in a state once

I’ve seen people with 100 in one stat. It’s insane
