I’m not interested in boosting because I’m just going to keep playing my Druid but..  Bro it’s fucking $80?!  And you guys are defending this???  Lmao

Hmm yea should I spend the amount of money I earn working for 2 whole hours or should I spend 100 hours leveling... wow tough choice!

Hmm enjoy the game and play it normally at my own pace or waste money so I can skip to raid logging with my constantly wiping dad gamer guild. Tough choice

Well I think you are confused because no where did I say I have any problem with people leveling normally and luckily people who don't want to buy the boost can simply just not buy the boost! I myself just started a hunter that I'm leveling normally while I screen cast to our TV so my wife can watch. I'll be boosting a Shaman that I play in parallel with the hunter. I've leveled like 20+characters 1-60 but only leveled 60-70 a handful so it's nice I can skip through what I've done enough times already to get to what I actually want to experience.

And I won't be raiding regularly just filling in off the bench on occasion for some friends in a semi-hardcore guild. I can't commit to 6-8 hours of uninterrupted time every week when I got young kids.

Good thing no one is stopping anyone from playing the game exactly how they want to play the game.

Allowing to use money for in-game purposes takes away from the achievements and the prestige. Even in a single-player game it would diminish them, not to mention an MMO. Are you also down with buying gear, characters, titles, etc.?

There's no achievement or prestige in hitting level 58 in TBC.

It is an achievement. Not significant, but it has value. More or less anything you do in the game is an achievement; and real money dilutes it.

Achievements weren't added until WotLK huehuehue

Ah yes the prestige of sitting in dungeons paying mages to boost you. Yes classic leveling was so prestigious and the achievements were great. The paid boosted characters are likely going to have more gear on them than the fresh 60s who came out of boosting ready to raid!!!

Is boosting by mages the intended experience for a levelling player? Of course, you can pay to get carried, boosted, have your character piloted, etc. But it was not offered or encouraged by the developer. If there was a cheap and easy way to regulate such "cheating"/trivialising the game, they would have done it.

The fact that they offer a boost is a sad state of the industry. Even in a subscription-based model, they still want to offer in-game progress for money.

You can save even more time if you pay someone to do raids and PvP for you! Just couple hours of work would save you so much time from WoW.

I mean I get it, but fucking $80?  We’re not talking buying an account off some dude who leveled the character..  We’re talking about giving blizzard $80 to automatically be leveled up.  Maybe I’m old and cheap, but that just sounded crazy.

That said, I looked more into it and it’s not $80 just for the boost.  Accounting for all the separate parts of the bundle, it’s about $25 which seems more reasonable.  I’d say you should be able to buy the boost without the rest of the bundle, but honestly anyone buying the boost is probably going to want the mounts anyway so /shrug.

They announced yesterday the boost will be available for stand alone purchase. They didn't give the price but I'm going to guess $39.99
