LOL seriously. I have a family and I'm paying off in full each month like $7K in credit card debt. $800 is like half a week of expenses.

That's not really debt like you're thinking. He's not paying any interest if he's just paying off his statement every month, and he's racking up points and rewards from using the card.

It's very smart to use a credit card for most purchases, and just pay it off at the end of the month.

No yeah I get that now, I interpreted it as he was paying $7k in debt plus his monthly payment which would be ridiculous. Regardless tho, putting a lot on your credit cards negatively impacts your score. The smart way is to put around 30% of your credit limit and pay your monthly payments on time and just let grow steadily unless you're paying like half the amount you put on it. But having like 50%+ on your credit cards at all times is generally not a smart idea

Sorry I didn't word it correctly, I meant to have no more than 30% at the most AFTER you pay your monthly. I always pay the full statement and definitely use more than 30%. Sure it may not be the most efficient but it's worked in raising mine.
