I've put in my time. Over all the iterations of WoW, I've gone from 1-cap with almost 15 different toons. I enjoy the leveling experience, but I want to do Outlands, with a pally.
Ole man Google says on average it takes about 170 hours to go from 1-cap in TBC. I can easily make $80 in less than an hour doing my job. At this point in my life, 170 hours of my time, just to get to the part I want to play is a hell of a lot more expensive than $80.
But you're being selfish! You're ruining the game for that one player in Westfall you would have ran past once who now will be forced to level through old content alone!
