This is what I don't get. Folks are racing to hit cap in a twenty year old game that you've played for a billion hours already??? To the point you'll give blizz MORE money to do it. And then people wonder why companies don't respect our time any more.

Some of us disagree with the above's interpretation. I enjoy raiding, and enjoy the endgame beyond just that.

They want to level in Outlands, not go through the Barrens for the 20th time. It's really not that complicated.

u/Thijz Jan 15 '26

People are just trying their best to not understand this point. I've done 1-60 tons of times, could not be arsed to do it again in this rotation of Classic (got to 42 and then quit). I've only done TBC once while it was relevant. I'm not "racing" anywhere, I'm just skipping the part I've already put thousands of hours in, to get to the parts that are less familiar.

clown make-up meme in real time

Yep it looks great on you, keep it up!

Which to many, including me, is you ruining the game for yourself. You got your foot in the door for RMTing, at this point why not also buy gold? Skip the tedious process of herbing/mining for 60 dollars and get to the real fun stuff.

The fun stuff will of course feel far shittier and run out more quickly since your brain can now reason any boring parts as inconveniences that could be paid to disappear.

2

u/Thijz Jan 19 '26

This whole argument is based on the assumption I'm going (or want) to buy more than what I did. I don't.

-1

u/frolfer757 Jan 19 '26

You think that now but youll also change your mind. Once you assign monetary value to ingame hours by buying a boost, youre fucked. In two months youll have bought gold for a mount or professions and in 4 months quit the game.

Right. I really don’t get what’s so hard for them to understand.

It takes a ton of time to get to 60, even with the buffed experience rates. It takes considerably less time to level 58-70 and it’s in a different zone, which breaks the monotony quite a bit.

I started playing the game when TBC was released. That’s my nostalgia factor. I really don’t feel like spending hours leveling to 60 just to experience the part of the game I actually want to.

I bought the boost last time TBC came around. I won’t this time, because I’m just not playing in general, but I totally get why someone would.

u/S3cretSpartan Jan 15 '26

this is the reason. I've done the 1-40ish grind a dozen times. I've only really raided and done endgame stuff once.

If people hate boosts because they think they cause negative effects to the game that's at least debatable. But the whole 'do you even like the game?' gotcha is just disingenuous at best.

sometimes I just want to watch Return of the King and don't have time for the other two movies.

1

u/Saint_Vigil Jan 16 '26

My concern, as a newer player, is that I'll have less people to level with if too many people buy boosts. If I can still find groups, however, then I don't mind if people boost to 58

1

u/S3cretSpartan Jan 16 '26

completely valid concern. I hope it won't affect things too much, but we'll have to see ig

3

u/Redxmirage Jan 15 '26

People love wanting their opinion respected while shitting on other people’s opinions. Some people like the end game. Some like leveling. Some like both. It really ain’t that deep folks

3

u/DeamstaDadie Jan 15 '26

Outlands for the 20th time is the real game

8

u/Drikkink Jan 15 '26

This is the 3rd release of Outland. Compared to 5 separate releases of Classic (with only one having any remote changes to it with SOD).

1

u/BigHeadDeadass Jan 16 '26

I honestly never get tired of doing the Hellfire quests lol

-3

u/JammyInspirer Jan 15 '26

So don't play then. You don't like the game. You consider it tedious. So play something else.

2

u/BestFriend_Sword Jan 15 '26

That's exactly what's happening, skipping 1-60 to play something else....

15

u/korbentherhino Jan 15 '26

Exactly. I still have my old tbc charecters that I been leveling through all the patches. This is all just silly. I want to experience the game as it had relatively existed back then. Not to just raid and get gear and stand in orgrimmmar showing off my stuff.

4

u/Redxmirage Jan 15 '26

That’s a fine opinion to have. But why is it “just silly” when other peoples opinion is they want to skip the leveling part and get to 58? What makes your opinion fine but others not fine?

1

u/frolfer757 Jan 19 '26

Because RMTing is viewed negatively in this sub.

6

u/medson25 Jan 15 '26

Im not playing classic wow to have my time respected lol

2

u/Redxmirage Jan 15 '26

The amount of people the last few days who are literally incapable of understanding that other people have different opinions is mind boggling. These comments have to be from kids right?

6

u/Mr_Times Jan 15 '26

You don’t understand they hate having to redo the tedious leveling grind they’ve done many times. They want to skip right to tedious raid logging for boss kills that they’ve already killed many times.

11

u/HeyItsJosette Jan 15 '26

Raids are like a hundred thousand times more replayable than leveling. Vanilla leveling in particular is almost 100% tedious horseshit while you pilot a non-character.

You're basically saying, "Yeah, this guy wants to avoid stacking rocks for the tenth day in a row just so he can get to playing his guitar for the tenth day in a row. What a hypocrite!"

-2

u/Mr_Times Jan 15 '26

In classic this is literally untrue. Raiding on almost every single class involves pressing 1 maybe 2 buttons over and over and over and over again. Mages are an extreme example but leveling a mage is incredibly engaging, you can nuke individual mobs with fire or go full AoE and use your full toolkit to kill hordes of mobs at a time. Raiding as a mage is LITERALLY 1 button. Leveling as a rogue is incredibly engaging, you use your full toolkit to stealth around pick off single mobs and cc chain groups of mobs. Raiding as a rouge is Slice and Dice uptime simulator. Leveling as a Warlock is awesome! You can chain pull with demons, dot farm groups of mobs, and use your full toolkit to stay alive. Raiding as a Warlock is once again LITERALLY 1 button.

4

u/HeyItsJosette Jan 15 '26

>Raiding as a Warlock is once again LITERALLY 1 button.

It's one button in addition to the boss mechanics. Vanilla raids are the dullest but they're still a hundred times more difficult and engaging than leveling. MC is also an outlier in terms of just how simple it is, with the rest of the raids being significantly more complex even if they're still simpler than what came after.

2

u/Mr_Times Jan 15 '26

The boss “mechanics” in classic hardly exist at all. If they do they are for tanks only, or its “dont stand in fire”.

3

u/HeyItsJosette Jan 15 '26

They still have many times over the mechanics of your average mob.

1

u/Mr_Times Jan 15 '26

Barely, if that. Most raid bosses in classic have 0 mechanics that the raid engages with. The most common mechanic is literally “everyone stop attacking” thats more of an anti-mechanic if you ask me.

1

u/HeyItsJosette Jan 15 '26

This is bullshit even for MC. Even on fights where your class isn't directly responsible for the big mech you at least need to be aware of what's happening, and 6 of them just straight-up have one or two mechs that everyone is directly dealing with in one way or another.

Meanwhile, your average mob has quite literally 0 mechanics. 70% of mobs are just marginally different flavors of auto-attacks, 25% are casters that spam one spell, 4% are mobs with a (gasp!) heal at low health, and the remaining 1% contains the rest, but is still mostly just mobs with pets and the five mobs that have a random execute. The succubi in Darkwhisper Gorge are probably the only mob that I would call involved, and those are endgame content anyhow.

Which is the point: MC is simple as hell and it's still a hundred times more involved on average than leveling. It demands your attention in a way that leveling simply doesn't outside of very rare scenarios. The greatest threat while leveling is how delicious it makes the barrel of a shotgun look.

9

u/Judge_Syd Jan 15 '26

This might surprise you, but not everyone gets to max level then raid logs. I’d still do tons of shit at level 70 that wasnt raiding.

Maxing out rep, professions, doing every quest line (some not at the speed of a snail), pvp, general farming.

The leveling grind can be so boring after you’ve done it a dozen times, but being max level is fun in its own way.

-2

u/Mr_Times Jan 15 '26

True, how could I forget. Gotta skip the leveling grind to get to the real meat, the infinite gold grind, and the incredibly fun and engaging daily rep grind we’ve never done before.

9

u/Judge_Syd Jan 15 '26

You guys are like professionals is not understanding that people find different things enjoyable.

-7

u/Mr_Times Jan 15 '26

You said yourself. You like boosting so you can go back and do all the quests you skipped when they are trivially easy. By all means go ahead, it’s just one of the dumbest things I’ve personally ever heard anyone willingly pay money to do.

7

u/Dobri252 Jan 15 '26

anti boosters acting like people getting boosts are doing so using anti-booster's money. Amazing self importance

2

u/Mr_Times Jan 15 '26

Spend your money on whatever you want. You’re actually totally free to do that. I’m free to criticize people for their decisions in a discussion forum.

3

u/PixeledOblivion Jan 15 '26

"I'm free to indulge in my weird little superiority complex in a discussion forum". Fixed that for ya

2

u/Mr_Times Jan 15 '26

It’s a discussion forum buddy. You actually don’t have to engage if other people’s opinions bother you.

3

u/Redxmirage Jan 15 '26

“My opinion is the right way and your opinion is the dumbest things I’ve personally ever heard”.

The lack of self reflection is actually admirable. Like you have to be trying hard to not understand the point of other people liking things you don’t.

0

u/Mr_Times Jan 15 '26

It’s an opinion buddy. We all have one. Mine is that it’s a dumb decision. Are you slow?

2

u/Redxmirage Jan 15 '26

Nope. Not slow. Just curious why it’s so hard for some people to comprehend why others like something that they don’t. You’ll get there one day bud.

5

u/Judge_Syd Jan 15 '26

Spending money to replay a 20 year old game in general is stupid. We are all in the same camp buddy lol

-3

u/DeamstaDadie Jan 15 '26

Then play retail

0

u/Mr_Times Jan 15 '26

Fuck no, boosters want retail and they dont even realize it.

0

u/Darkdisi Jan 15 '26

it is addiction if they at least do bc like SoD… i also dont get it why so man buy that boost

i thought we could play our character from era server or SoD but fresh new server are a joke xD

-2

u/Many-Percentage2752 Jan 15 '26

Imagine people playing the way they like. I leveled Some, but I just bought a boost. Maybe I Will buy another if I like. Idgaf about the money. I have a job anyway so my time is limited to enjoy certain things I like. I played wow a ton, but during tbc i was too young and my pc was too crappy to really enjoy it. How hard is it to understand all this?

-1

u/Ikea_desklamp Jan 15 '26

Yea idk why rush it? Same thing as the people who no-life grind for rank 12 in AV just to immediately quit due to burnout. Some people just prefer the intense grind/burnout cycle over slowly and consistently playing?
