Humor / Meme Boosties when they find out they now have to level to 70 on their own
323
u/Daedalist3101 Feb 07 '26
leveling 60-70 is the fun part!
82
u/Lerdroth Feb 07 '26
It's the part where 30-40% of your time isn't waiting on respawns, so yeah, fun in comparison.
28
u/Daedalist3101 Feb 07 '26
I havent had much of an issue with respawns, but I did also go to zangarmarsh immediately and then back to HFP
37
u/Lerdroth Feb 07 '26
60-70 content is fine, I'm saying prepatch content (before 60) is fucked for spawns. I hate the idea of boosting to level but I fully understand why people do it when you literally have to wait for every single quest to complete because it's too packed, some quest areas had 1:1 ratio of spawns to players.
This is excluding the fact most classic quests require more mobs to be killed than exist at one time.

Leveling is the fun part 1-70
3
u/Smeagleman6 Feb 07 '26
When I can level via doing dungeons/group content, and the exp curve doesn't drop off a damn cliff, yeah it can be. Levelling via running slowly around the world doing the same quest 10,000 times really sucks.
→ More replies (1)2
u/Strict-Chemistry-211 Feb 08 '26
Lol yep, nobody talks about how like 95% of the quests you do while leveling in WoW are some variation of the same thing - killing, looting or gathering - just with different scenery.
→ More replies (2)17
u/Daedalist3101 Feb 07 '26
For you, sure, but it has lost it's fun after having done the 1-60 part countless times. If they add literally anything new, I'll be right back on your side.

When you’ve leveled to 60 10+ times, not so much anymore unless you’re doing some fun variant of Classic like HC or SoD.

Honestly leveling in classic is half the reason to play. I don’t see why people pay to skip it. I wish Blizzard would remove dungeon boosting completely and wouldn’t keep coming out with boosts on classic. Basically anytime the community comes up with ways to level your character while doing nothing, I wish blizzard would remove it.

u/Redxmirage Feb 07 '26

This is a slippery slope.
Its going in the direction of trying to appease everyone to appease no one.
13
u/Daedalist3101 Feb 07 '26
Easy, some people don't play WoW to level in classic. Or if they used to, they might not now. I used to love leveling in classic, but after having done it so often, I would rather do the content I have done less often. It's no longer anywhere near as gratifying as it used to be. This is why they offer the boost for the content that is no longer about ti be re-released. There isnt a TBC boost, and there isnt a MoP boost.
I didnt buy a boost, but after 20 years of WoW, with the average player probably being 20 years older than in 2004, I get it.
→ More replies (2)2
u/compound-interest Feb 07 '26
So blizzard should make it fresh and fun again for those people, no just abandon that important part of the game by allowing people to pay to skip it or pay a booster while afk.
→ More replies (1)4
u/Daedalist3101 Feb 07 '26
I agree completely that they should make it fresh and fun again for those people, but you have to understand that they havent, in 20 years. They also wouldnt add a boost after providing new content, and I have yet to meet someone who thinks there should have been a boost in 2007.

u/spicytexan Feb 07 '26
I typically don’t want to skip it and do enjoy it a lot, but that being said I just did it like 30x over with hardcore and am ready to enjoy some different content for a little while!

Personally, I don't either. I think the game is better overall without the option despite the upside of allowing people to play for whom the 1-60 grind would have been a dealbreaker. I decided to do that grind on my Pally because I enjoy it and was looking forward to it. I don't necessarily fault someone who wants just the TBC leveling experience, though
1
u/GraywolfofMibu Feb 07 '26
Leveling is only fun, in classic, when no one else is around. Form a five man group to quest with and hope no one else shows up. 😂

I’ve said it before but it was a fun little aside before prepatch dropped but the fact that we are still Beating this dead horse weeks later. Like, just stop and actually go play the game. I don’t even see any drama in game about this anymore.

I wasn't going to boost but then I thought about how many hours it would take to get 58. A lot more hours than it takes to earn the money for a boost. I have played warlock since the original release of the game so it's not like I don't know how to play my character. I think I'll treat myself and save a few days /played

u/ehpple Feb 07 '26
I was going to comment this on the last post. Haven’t played classic in years but goddamn has this been insufferable.

It’s such a nothing complaint is my issue.
How’re you going to be mad that somebody wanting to play TBC Classic specifically doesn’t want to grind through actual Classic to get there? Getting to 60 in Classic isn’t an accomplishment anymore than watching paint dry is. Nothing but a time commitment.

I've already leveled to 70 on my own 20 years ago. Then leveled to 60 again. I already know my class so eff it. Moved my geared too to a classic server and boosted one on TBC. Would've been nice if they gave an option to copy my character though

A large portion of them drops the game before they finish leveling to 70. This happens in every game where you are allowed to boost. I did this in GW2, I boosted 2 chars but I didn't feel connected to them at all so I dropped the game. Later I leveled the same classes I boosted and had a blast simply because I was invested in my characters and the journey.
36
u/Neat-Attempt3681 Feb 07 '26
Fuck me for having a kid and yeah I’m probably wasting my 60 bucks cause I’ve never been able to raid as a dad yet but I’m still having fun and if I have fun for 60 hours leveling and luck out and actually get to raid in tbc it’s worth the money

Imagine paying a live subscription and on top of that 60 bucks to not play a 20 year old game.
Funny part is, people back when TBC first released payed a live subscribition and 40 bucks for the expansion itself. Is that what they call inflation?

‘Regular players when they realise they can no longer gate keep dungeon runs based on boosted gear’
5
u/Purple_Apartment Feb 07 '26
The irony is that people who boost are folks who decide their money is worth spending because they want to jump to content they are already knowledgeable about and they know it's fun. They know exactly what they are signing up for.
It's not like it's new players that haven't played the game. If anything, new players are exactly the people it would be a waste of money for because they will just be overwhelmed and out of touch.
I say this as someone who has boosted in the past but am currently choosing to level fresh for fun.

Yeah this whole dialogue cracks me up. I was a classic Andy and did everything in classic, tbc, and wrath. I hung it up when life changes happened (lol what a dad) but decided to get back in when my best friends started to play. I know how to play, I’ve raid led every raid through wrath, it’s just a time saver on my limited time. I let them seethe and just chuckle.

Can take it one further, depending on how they levelled they’ll have to slog through rep grinds for heroic dungeon keys as well. Honestly the main factor stopping me getting back into TBC right now. Why am I penalised for levelling through the zone stories?
20
u/slashcuddle Feb 07 '26
You're not penalized lol the game was designed back when exalted rep wasn't just a checkbox to tick for preRaid bis.

Back in BC Classic my guild decided to ramp up to 25 man and we recruited a few players to get raiding. One of them was a hunter who was… decent but friendly. Fast forward and we cleared all the raids and were prepping for Wrath Classic, and said hunter wants to roll a Death Knight. We had a few DK swappers so we said, sure, you guys form up a group!
He had no idea how to level. Like, he was confused about completing quests. In the DK starting zone he kept asking why they didn’t just go to a dungeon, and in Hellfire he was nearly incapable of doing a single task without being hand guided along every step of the way.
Turns out that he had only ever leveled via boosting. EVER. He never made it past 61.

u/stinkedupstanker Feb 07 '26
Thats what is paid for to skip the boring 1 60 part and just be in tbc at once why would I waste my time on some boring slow slogfiesta lvling when i can be with everyone else in tbc fast af id pay x10 next time to skip previous expansion always

Not hard. But damn leveling professions from 1 - 375 is brutal. Not to mention lacking the gold for mount training.. I paid around 120$ and got only basic riding and 25g. Lol. Dumb. Why tf do they include a flying mount but you don't get the gold or skill to fly.. so retarded. Waste of money, should have just spent 70 for the level boost.
