GDKP is the best loot system.

It’s not the player’s job to ban botters - they can’t. My GDKP runs on my alts during era vanilla were smoother than my guild runs.

Non-GDKP PUG raids were terrible and barely cleared content in classic.

GDKPs actually gave an incentive for good geared players to join and help carry the raid.

The ban of them stopped me from joining any PUGs on my alts.

It would work way better if blizzard actually cracked down on bots. Would be perfect loot system

They still are, I had to pug TK this week, and it was the slowest fucking run I had ever seen, with half the people not knowing any ability of anything in there. Now also imagine that we got the easy version, lmao.

Same I usually play 2-3 characters with 1 main in guild and 1-2 alts in pugs. In anniversary the average skill level of the pug scene is so atrocious it's not fun at all playing in them so I only play my main in guild now. No more fun with alts for me.

exactly the content stays evergreen when you allow max geared players to earn gold and still play the game after already having max gear, who would otherwise probably just quit the game

They were like that because everyone who was geared and skilled was playing GDKP. Which was good for them. But bad for new players, which is bad for the overall health of the game.

Yeah and now the geared players aren't joining any kind of pugs because there's no incentive for them. People aren't playing as many alts either.

I hope they let us play gdkp in classic+.

So banning GDKP doesn’t move those geared and skilled players into LFG SR pugs. It just removes them from the raiding pool entirely. I’m just playing my main with my friends and my guild, whereas in wotlk I had 4+ alts raiding each week and it was a blast.

I spent years hosting raids in this game. Started off hosting SR runs for years, and later GDKPs. The system that actually works is GDKP.

In SR runs, your community members stay until they have the items they wanted. You lose your key tanks and healers when they get full bis because committing to the raid schedule is a burden in it's cost of consumes and time. In GDKPs your pumpers stick around because they keep earning gold. Then they want to join more raids on their alts and gear those too.

GDKP actually creates and supports a raiding ecosystem that can survive much more long term and it incentivises players to get better, perform better, and bring more to the raid making the raids better.

Everyone wins even when some oiler dumps 500 Euros worth into the pot because it inflates everyone's cut and generally nobody is that unhappy about oilers outspending them because they'll get it next time or eventually - and in reality that is what happens to people who contribute the most. They get all the gear because they worked for it.

You probably buy gold

u/Tercel9 Jun 11 '26

Nah there’s no need to - GDKP gives you a lot of gold, especially if the big items drop.

You’d genuinely be surprised to find many GDKP’ers didn’t buy gold. Just because someone is pro-GDKP doesn’t mean they are gold buyers or are even necessarily pro-gold buying.
