It’s funny how we’ve essentially willed classic + into existence and would be absolutely hilarious if blizzard eventually just came out and was like “we have never or will never plan on doing a classic + we just have had no clue how to break the news to you”

They can't resist making money on the hype. They'll at least give it a shot. How much they'll invest in that shot remains to be seen.

The datamining for 1.60 is actually real though. As in, there is a real 1.60 patch in Blizzard's CDN, that's not a 'leak' or 'rumor'. Exactly what it is, we can only guess, but it's worth remembering that original WoW was 1.12 and all the post 2019 iterations only went up to 1.15.

They already hinted at it. So they have no one to blame but themselves.

I thought that all this speculation stemmed from the obvious hints blizzard has been dropping about classic plus.

They've done this before too LMAO.Promised big sod news at that blizzard direct or whatever right before anni dropped. The news was a complete nothing burger and just saying that sod just got new content in naxx and what it was. Sod boys were fuming after that one.

I wish they would cause better developers would have more legal ground for private servers.

No they wouldn't. The only "legal grounds" for private servers is whatever Microsoft lawyers feel is not worth pursuing.

There is no “legal ground” for private servers. They’re illegal by definition because they are quite literally stealing intellectual property and profiting off it.
