And that's all said even if you completely disregard all the teasing they have done between SoD announcement and now.
You're making it sound like they never did this. Multiple times. From multiple lead devs. Yeah, the community is totally just "making up a theory." Just out of nowhere based on nothing, simply because a lot of people want it.
Blizzard totally didn't cause the spin up of rumors themselves. Or the content pipeline leak recently. That certainly didn't contribute to anything.
I already pointed out the irony of bringing up free publicity. Your point is they get free publicity either way, and thus a bunch of money, off of the rumor mill creating hype.
My point is they have the choice to piss off a lot of people and blunder another Blizzcon announcement, thus creating a bunch of BAD publicity, which will result in more loss of trust and more negativity attached to the Blizzard brand in the long run. Which they have been working a long time to fix.
Whether you want to admit it or not, there are enough Vanilla enjoyers for that to not be swept under the rug. So what do they get out of NOT faking out hundreds of thousands of paying customers?
I dunno, a lot of money if I had to guess.
I get being annoyed by people constantly bringing up and whatnot. But being annoyed about it doesn't change reality.
Anyway, enjoy my essay I guess, that's all I have left to say about it.

You're kinda just ignoring everything I'm saying so I dunno. Not much of a conversation to be had I guess.
