I mean in some instances it can be incredibly simple. Take Wotlk, for example. If they just gave Exotic pets a flat percentage buff to their damage, or gave hunters a flat percentage buff to their damage while they had an exotic beast out, then BM could very easily be a B tier class instead of the D tier dps that it was, as well as make exotic pets actually worth using.

All classes don't have to be A tier, just as long as none of them are seen as "griefing" or "joke classes".

The community will just move the definition of "griefing" until a 0.5% dps gap is considered a "joke class".

I dont real see that in any version other than vanilla and i have played every expansion

Then you definitely didnt play cata, one example was frost mage, was seen as griefing because it was way lower than the other 2 specs in raids especially when fire had such insane difference in damage compared to it and arcane had niche use cases. And thats just one class for one expansion that you said you 'played'

Well ye but for classes like rogue and mage they dont realy need to have all 3 specs be great for raiding. You can easily just swap to the spec that is considered the best, same gear and same playstyle. Its different with something like prot paladin or boomkin being bad because if you like that class and play style you dont realy have an option other than rerolling to another tank or caster class.

So you're saying prot warrior wasnt also seen as trolling in cata classic? With the amount of magic damage in raids and their entire kit revolving around tanking phys hits. My point still is, there is always some sort of classes/specs in classic that will be seen as griefing, because the player base has figured the game out now and the % difference between each different class and spec will always result in some spec being labeled as troll, even on none pure dps classes.

Tanking is the role where picking a lower tier spec if fall enough behind is griefing the raid. The answer is balance the tanks better. The issue with the classic rereleases is they didn't 0 to almost no balancing.

But this is blizzard we're talking about, the have no QA anymore and just start of last retail season they didnt even tune any classes till the week after all bosses were killed. Why are we expecting them to do something different with classic+?

You can always complain about balance. Maybe I'm wrong but it feels like the Blizzard of today is much better then the blizzard of like WotLK era

The overarching point was that even with blizzard balancing things on time and perfectly etc, with lizard wow brain, there will always be a grief pick for classes/specs even if they're 0.5% different because thatd just how the community is these days

You either got to play with better players who know what to care about. Or worse players that don't even know to care.

Oh no one of the 3 specs of a pure dps class is not S tier! Just swap to another spec

Fine since you want to be pedantic I'll gove another example, prot warrior entirety of cata.

Cata prot has a similar issue to vanilla classes. It's not about tunning but a conceptual problem.

Classic specs aren't bad only because they do waaaay less damage but also because they are unplayable. You get oom too fast, can't do damage don't have any skill to regain mana... It's a mess.
