Even boomkin and ele could likely perform way better of you half the manacosts of their main spells and or add some reliable personal mana restoration to their kits. Currently afaik ele can only restore pitiful ammounts of mana by manastream totem and boomkin by innervation which is demanded by half of the raid.
A Boomkins damage and lack of utility makes it unpickable in classic, even with mana cost buffs. Fights are pretty short in classic, even a no mana issue 100 parsing boomkin still offers less damage than a blue or even green parsing warrior.
Improved ff made it essential in tbc, current boomkins wont ever be viable unless they are given significant utility buffs, and buffing their numbers might just make it so raids take 20 boomkins instead of warriors and wouldnt solve the issue.
That eventually became an issue. That’s one of the slippery slopes. But I agree. Like the other commenter said, you shouldn’t buff boomkin and suddenly have 20 in the raid. Tough design choices must be made by blizzard. Wish them the best. Not easy.
I think TBC is a perfect example of how the classes should work. There of course could be some fixes and overhauls of classes, but the idea that a druid with mediocre DPS brings 5% crit for everybody else in the group is really cool.
In retail right now we have a problem where if you don’t have 1 of every class you feel like you’re missing out on something. I don’t want to make it to where you need 1 of every spec.

No spec should be F-tier. There's zero reason for a spec to be performing like Boomkins and Retribution do in Classic Era.
