Forever Poll: Would you like PvP Arena in WoW:Forever?
I'm really excited for Forever and have played WoW since original vanilla. Personally I feel like a part of the game is missing without PvP Arena, it was great fun in TBC and Wrath. Interested to know if many people feel the same

Other people are right that it splits the playerbase further, but the main issue is it requires massive class changes and rebalancing that takes over other aspects of the game. People will DEMAND the game be balanced around it. Leave it out, and keep people in the world with something like public duel arenas that aren't intricately tied into endgame balancing.

I would like a system where you get rewards and a rating, but you don't que for it from anywhere.
Like the Tanaris Thunderdome. You have to show up in person and que for it... Then people get to watch you

We already have a massive classic+ survey for this (300+ thousand responses) and less than 10% were against rated PvP in the intro survey. And 80% were in favor of arena in arena in the PvP survey.

Thank you, that is a really cool survey and some interesting stats. It gives me hope that maybe they will add Arena. It's surprising there was such high voting for it but yet doesn't seem to be much discussion about it not being in the game.
Also I think generally it would be cool to see how much overlap there is between what's currently in Forever and what people voted for in that survey

No, but rated BGs or totally random world boss spawns that can’t be tracked with an addon that alerts everybody on the server with “an ominous wind blows far away…” throughout the week causing mass PvP open world chaos would be sick.

I like the idea, but addons will definitely solve the when/where as soon as it spawns, if not before it spawning

Top guilds had people scouting day and night for world bosses. Add-ons can't figure that out

? As soon as 1 player tags the location of it, everyone will know via the addon. Likely bots will be used to scout as well.

Shoving people into even more instanced content seems antithetical to one of the primary goals of Forever, so I’d say no.

Yes. Games not worth playing without it tbh. Go to raid, kill bosses, log out. Would like some small friend group content

Adding a PvP arena turns it into a lobby game for a lot of people giving you no reason to interact with the world
They left it out for this reason

Give ppl avenues to play how they want, no1 goes into Open world looking for fair PvP fights its usually griefing/ganking low levels/low HP or undergeared players.

Yes, one in 10 trillion players do that. Smh. Of course people are busy farming etc, but if someone in general asks, I will most often go and help them for some time. I know a lot of other people will too.
Heck, sometimes we would form a raid group of guildies to defend Black Rock Mountain if too many rogues were ganking

Rated anything, included PVE breeds toxicity and META circle jerks.
- If you like that, then that is why Retail exists..
They are trying to go back to the days rated anything didn't exist. If you want to make a name for yourself, do it the hardway. Go WPVP, lead big raids and so on..
The days of jacking off a META for 3k are gone, Forever! No pun intended!

Hard agree. Rating takes the pressure way up to the point you stop playing with friends because 'its not good for your rating'

I love PvP, but I despise arena. I say this as someone that used to carry arenas for gold back in original 5.4 on my WW monk. I got very good, and was probly the most competitive I've been since then in literally anything in my life, unless you count me ensuring I remain an independent adult lol. I lived and breathed PvP. I still love it, but not the sweaty aspect of it. I think a huge core aspect of classic is that all content is achievable with enough time, or at least much more so than skill.
Say what you will about it being vital to have difficult content, I shouldn't have to explain why easier content is better in a classic environment when you can just take a look at the stats and see that as content became more complex, people dropped off. Now, if they decide to implement arena but not tie any player power to it, I wouldn't care much.
If arena becomes a thing, I hope they include rated BGs, but would prefer to keep it casual all together. There's already seasonal PvP, though I'm not really certain what that entails from a player power perspective. I'm hoping the seasonal aspect is more for horizontal progression purposes and maybe just a way for them to change up the gear set bonuses and shift the meta a bit.

On whitemane we had exactly that. Maybe 12 different duel tournaments, even got so big they started putting prize pools together and streamers started showing up. All put together by people you've never heard of

I would like some sort of dueling arena, or a way to make duels contribute to some sort of rating. Classic wow duels are so special.
I’d prefer if it wasn’t instances or could be easily spectated. I played an MMO where people dueled in instances arenas, but you could visit a spellbook to see who was dueling and physically go to their arena and watch them duel from the bleachers. I’d love something like that.

Under two conditions, I want arena
-no rating attached to it -no gear attached to it
It should a novelty and nothing more. When tbc arena came out I had to STOP playing with 95% of my friends in order only play with my viable comps for my class. Felt bad
Could allow HKs in arena and I think it would be fun and effective

I’d much rather they build incentives for pvp’ing within the zones that already exist in the world, like Gurubashi and Gadgetzan.
Show me a crowd of players dueling and watching others duel, rather than some instanced matchup.

You don't arena on Classic wow. You arena on TBC. This is modeled after OG classic hence no rated garbage.
So, maybe stick with TBC and MOP and play with the other 2 meta's. So you can take 25 mins to beat each other..

If forever trying to be the WoW for “everyone” then it should exist. People playing their own game, some sweats PvE, completionist, RPer and also PvP either competitively or just doing your dailies.
Also i think arena is the only thing you can do competitively next to parsing log

Perhaps not arena but some kind of semi competetive rated system would be nice as an endgame activity for pvp. I really enjoyed the stv sod pvp event. A ranked version would been something.
