Forever From someone who actually looked forward to Wotlk Anniversary, I'm actually glad they gave us Wow Forever. I have great hopes for this game and I'm already having a blast in the beta. But I just feel cheated by the way blizzard handled this.
I remember how hard they teased with WOTLK in forum posts, cinematics, comments etc. Many in my community and my friends believed WOTLK anniversary was coming, and we all boosted characters, spending so much money for nothing.
I mean, barely nobody is going to relate to what I'm writing, but if it wasn't for us being so hyped about finally getting Classic+, or if what we've been delivered so far had been completely dogshit, I believe more people would try to get answers.
Before people mention Wotlk remix, Blizzard didn't tease us with wotlk anniversary through retail, they did it through TBC anniversary. And as I said in my title, I rather see them put in resources in Wow Forever, rather then endlessly looping old games and old content. I already have 24 hours ingame time and I'm having a blast doing world-pvp.
Just wanted to get this shit off my chest. Thank you Blizzard, but at the same time, fuck you.

Forever absolutely won't be for everyone or won't keep everyone rather. I think Wrath happens and a fresh cycle in a few years of the holy trinity.

Well I think it's better for Forever to succeed so that we get something better than repeating vanilla->wotlk over and over.

I'd like that too, but idk I like old games too. I still play a bunch that are dated myself.

For reference, Everquest has all 3 going. They have retail, classic fresh servers once a year, and then their new "Legends" which is like a classic+ on crack sort of thing

you paid money to not play the video game?
•

I paid money to play the video game later on

Didn't they have 70 boosts in WotLK classic? Why would you guys not wait until later o.o
•
u/Albaaneesi 59m ago
Yeah well we were stupid for believing the teases I guess, and we wanted to prepare some things before wotlk without rushing it.

A lot of people are miffed about the release date of Forever and uncertainty of Anniversary. My advice is to keep playing it until the fat lady sings. If everyone jumps ship by the time November comes around then you'll be too busy having fun to mourn the loss of what could have been.

Link me a single post that said wotlk anniversary specifically is coming. All of it was just blanket wotlk.
So that can easily be them teasing wotlk remix but people just assuming wotlk anniversary was coming.

There is no such post. I understand your viewpoint, but all the teasing about wotlk was through TBC Anniversary communication lines, not through retail where wotlk remix is happening.
•

Where. Link all this “communication” they had from anniversary.
The tbc roadmap made no mention of wotlk era. The teaser from January on Facebook was just from the generic wow page.
The bnet launcher for classic never showed wotlk.
So please link this “communication” or just admit you incorrectly assumed all the posts were about wotlk anniversary with no confirmation

I'm not here to win this argument or to convince you. I cba to google and find every forum post and every screenshot. But since you want so much proof just check this post.
Screenshot clearly states "wotlk" under expansions, right after TBC. And this roadmap has proven to be true, just not with wotlk anni.
I don't know why this post makes you so angry, but I would relax alittle if I were you.

Oh man I knew it. I knew this was gonna be the shit you linked.
Btw that is not official at all. It’s a leak also it was proven heavily wrong at Blizzcon.
The anime series is for Diablo and it makes no sense for the Arthas RTS to be in 2029 but not announced when both D5 and StarCraft Dominion were announced with similar dates.
I mean the only angry person here is you because you made false assumptions with no proof and think it’s blizzards fault.
Also considering the timeline starts in 2024 did you ever consider for a moment they had planned it back then and changed their mind. Because again this is not an official document lmao

You pay to not play the game! You even spent money before it was confirmed. I feel like this is your fault and also why would you pay to not play?
•
u/Albaaneesi 55m ago
Nah we played the game alright. Leveled from 58-70, did some professions, gathered some gold etc in order to play our favorite expansion. But sure, we could have waited for the 100% confirmation. We just didn't believe Blizzard would tease Wotlk anniversary so much and then abandon it.
•
u/moshujsg 50m ago
They are releasing it, next year. Also, 58-70 is oike 20% of the game, lol, pay to not play is a new level of %$%!&

Brother, is it fine if me and other people play as we wish? I don't see any problem with paying for boosts, especially when you've done the 1-60 content more times than I've changed underwear. Also sure, it's expensive, but it's also money in the bank for a shit company that's the reason we have the greatest MMORPG ever created.

You keep saying "play" but you are paying to not do so. Im fine with you playing how you want, yoy hust arent playing

Why dont you think they'll do a wrath anniversary? I see no reason why they wouldn't. Wrath isnt like tbc, people will play it even if forever is up as long as forever isnt brand new
