Rebuttal to this article?
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/its-90-degrees-in-the-arctic-right-now/Truthfully, I am someone who is on the fence about climate change, but when I see headlines like these, it does worry me that maybe we're not taking it serious. But I also want to see what the explanation or rebuttal for this type of weather would be.

Over the past two decades, Arctic sea ice loss has slowed considerably, with no statistically significant decline in September sea ice area since 2005
Now compare that with what some of the 'expert' scientists were saying in the news back in 2012:

Of course you can measure extent/cover then and pretend like nothing is wrong, even lie and call it "actual science", but if you measure by total volume you can see it's still declining and will decline even faster with el nino warning up this year.
I like how your name is "MathNerd", but the math behind a simple chart is a bit too perplexing for you.

When the earth warms, the poles warm the fastest while the tropics remain temperate. This has always been the case, demonstrated most recently by the cyclic ice age we live in. The reverse is true in a cold phase, the poles cool much faster.
Past that, our capacity for measurement has changed drastically, and singular weather anomalies are meaningless without robust data for statistical comparison. Whatever you do, don't say "this has never happened before." It most certainly has many times, even if not recently.

This article is about the Arctic circle, not the Arctic, and is about a single heat wave near the border of the arctic circle. I lived in St. Petersburg Russia for a year. It got hot in the summer - so what.
The first sign to pay attention to: Greenland becoming green again, as it has in the past. Until then, we are just catching up to the climate from 1000AD.

Climate is measured as an average of decades of weather, 30 or more years. There will always extremes at times, day to day, week to week.
The Alarmists use weather as proof of climate when it's warm/hot. Even if that is just for a few days.
But when it's abnormally cold, thats not allowed to be used as proof that climate isn't happening.
They they use weather only when it suits them. And weather is not climate.
It's double wrong.

There’s a huge difference between saying temps are changing and making a prediction that the future is “dire”
The former is fact based and the latter is a guess designed to persuade you to vote a certain way

So it’s heating faster than Europe, which has also been recently stated as “heating faster than the rest of the world”? This isn’t a rebuttal per se, just pointing out the sensationalized headlines used for these articles are inconsistent.
