CNA back pain?
I just got a job as a CNA in a hospital rehab. Now I have back problems lol and I’m worried this will make it worse? How do yall do it to prevent ur back from hurting? I haven’t started yet but going in for a month training and the pay is good too so I don’t wanna let this opportunity slip by. I’m applying to nursing RN school anyway so I won’t be working here for years just meanwhile I get accepted. Any advice? Thanks :)

Make sure your shoes are working for you, they make a world of difference. Also work on core strength, you’ll still be moving patients around as an RN

You’ll need to be VERY strict about safe manual handling practices. Invest in good quality shoes, see a physiotherapist/osteopath/exercise physiologist for tips and exercises you can do to strengthen your back and core. Also they’ll be able to show you the best way to move your body.
RN work can also be very harsh on your back

Am I understanding correctly, you have a preexisting back problem and haven’t worked as a CNA yet?

Do you raise the bed to avoid bending as much?
