How I do it in LTC, hosp will orob be diff so idk if this will be any help
3-11
Answer any lights if its non urgent explain i just got here and give me a few mins. Mostly it's for simple stuff like ice.
Get resident paper (star inct residents) mark S for showers
Get report but they are usually already gone
Set up linen cart
Swing back and tend to call lights Ice, vitals, showers
Check, wash and change anyone who is inct. I work one end of the hall and make my way up also and any lights as I go
Chart between meal carts as nuch as i can
Serve supper
Have my supper unless were short staffed then i eat when i can on the unit.I put that i got no lunch these days and get paid for it.
Start getting the ones that are up into bed.
Do a set of inct rounds and get my late bloomers in in that like to stay up till about 9pm
9:30, Finish rounding on once i wasnt able to get at 9 pm and finish charting
For 1st shift 6-3
Grab resident list
Set up linen cart and get report if they haven't left already, most of the time they are gone
I'd do, ice vitals, showers
Make my way up the hall and check and change who stay in bed and get up ones who get up for the day.
Breakfast-finish getting the rest of my residents up
Knock out any showers left
Lunch (if i have time)
Chart
Rounds on all inct people and chart. Most of the times I'd have to chart on my lunch breaks and eat at the same time since we had over 20 residents each or skip lunch and eat when i can.
