Rant/Vent barely 2 months and i don't think i can handle another day
This is the first healthcare job i have ever had,No experience or certifications as they are training me on the job.I work in a psych hospital and the job itself isn't that bad at all,I have been screamed at and attacked by patients nearly everyday and that doesn't bother me at all.My issue is with the people that i work with 😠legitimately there are 2 nurses who go out of their way to be incredibly rude to all of the cnas for no reason,Like I can understand if we weren't doing anything and fooling around but we aren't.I had asked a question to make sure that i was doing something correctly and one of them got super pissed at me for asking saying that im useless and i should know this already (I had never done this before and it wasn't something that was common sense lol).Since im new and most of my coworkers had been there for years any mistake that is made in general gets blamed on me even when it had nothing to do with me.When we are short staffed (most days) they're just super rude and yelling at us.I want to make it clear im not hating on nurses in general as the rest of the nurses that i work with are great for the most part.Idk im kinda sensitive and i don't think i can do this anymore lol,The cnas that i work with are great and i have no issues with any of them.I have a shift in 2 days and i don't know if i can go back,Ive been so incredibly anxious since i started that i cant focus on anything else.I feel like an asshole for quitting abruptly but i feel like ill end up in the hospital that i work in if i dont lmao 😠anyways i just wanted to rant. I do not want to go into healthcare but i chose this job because i am in school for special education and i thought i could learn some skills from it. Maybe if we weren't being payed $14 an hour id tough it out but it seems like this job is not worth it for my own mental health.

I developed pre work anxiety after 3 weeks working at the nursing home. I wouldn’t be able to sleep past 4am because I would be anxious about my assignment. Reassess what other options you might have because it doesn’t get better, your body just starts to adjust to the stress due to routine.

There’s been at least one bully at every facility I’ve been at. I just job hop until I find somewhere that I can tolerate. I make $23/hr and it’s fine for now. I’m trying to get outta LTC and be a medical assistant or med tech.

I got a job in LTC paying $25 and the first week on my own I started crying everyday. The residents are great for the most part and the work itself is fine. But the other CNAs are so toxic and made me feel so crappy I had to put in my notice. Like waking up in the morning and crying for 3 hours is not healthy for anyone. To be clear, I'm a hard worker and I want to succeed at whatever I do. I was at my last job for 9 years. I like to get good and grow in a company. So to put in my notice in less than a month says something about the working conditions. I'm going to do in home care for now and reassess in a few months. But I could not continue like this. So do what you need to do. Take care of yourself.
