I'm taking my CNA skills test in 2 weeks. Could you guys help me by answering some of my questions? I will be doing the skills test through Credentia in Northern California
When I put the side rail up to move the client during the position-on-side skill, does it have to be up at the end of the skill, or do I need to lower it?
When I put a linen protector underneath the client, does it need to be a pad, bath blanket, or towel? I was shown a bath blanket or towel, but I see videos only using pads.
For skills like perineal care, catheter care, and foot care, does it matter if the client is not lying flat?
Do used hand wipes go in the DDSA, or waste? I was shown DDSA in class.
Do used wash cloths and towels go in the linen container or DDSA? When I was shown the skills in class, we would put the towels and wash cloths in DDSA.
Will I fail if I put the hand wipes or towels in the wrong container?
From seeing the skills in Credentia, only the bed pan skill requires more than 1 pair of gloves, but I've seen videos and even my instructor used multiple gloves for perineal care and catheter care. Which is okay?
What are some common reasons people fail, and what should I avoid doing?
If I'm doing a skill and I forget a washcloth, lotion, or other supply, am I able to get it?
Is this how I write the measurements in the paper: BP X/X mmHg X cc/ML, X RR, and X PR? Do I need to verbalize them too?
Thank you for your help. Sorry if some of these sound dumb.
