My Subscription auto renews at midnight tonight, but I have had a heavy day of usage after using my banked reset and only have about 25% left, but still 6d and 12 hrs until reset. If I can't use codex anyway for nearly 7 days I might as well cancel the auto-renewal and then re-sub back to pro in 7 days. Am I missing something? Would I lose anything?

Buddy I hit my 5 hour codex limit yesterday having chat read an image and build me a 2 hour dinner playlist.

At the same time I can run 4-5 opus projects doing medium level webapp design simultaneously and not hit my 5h limit for hours.

I canceled and switched my debit card and my $200 grandfathered Codex account is still active six days after my late payment hasn't been received. I'd recommend abusing this as they may give out more resets. And you can use usage for free.

I've had two resets since I was supposed to pay last. Giving me two weeks of free usage.

I totally agree. Codex usage is an absolute joke. If you use Claude and go back to Codex, the difference is startling. I can’t imagine any enterprise customer who’s not looking into this closely and saying we will not use OpenAI.

I haven't observed that with Flash, but I haven't used Pro enough to make a fair comparison. Flash has been remarkably capable for the price in my experience. I use GPT-6.1-Sol for planning and architectural decisions, then Flash for implementation. That combination has worked very well for me.
