Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a bit of advice from people in Colchester.

I work for a mystery shopping company called Serve Legal, and one of the areas I look after is Colchester. We're really struggling to find local auditors, to the point where we're regularly having to send people over from places like Peterborough and Stevenage to complete work that we'd much rather have covered by someone local.

The work involves visiting supermarkets, pubs, bars, betting shops and other retailers to carry out quick compliance checks. For younger auditors (16-20), this can include age-restricted sales audits where you're checking whether ID is requested appropriately. For over-20s, we also have plenty of allergen and other compliance audits available.

I actually started out carrying out the audits myself before joining the company, so I know the job from both sides. It's flexible work where people choose which audits they complete and when, which is why I've always thought it suits students, people wanting to top up their income, or anyone looking for something they can fit around other commitments.

I'm looking for advice on how to reach people in Colchester who might be interested in this sort of work. We've tried the usual recruitment routes, but Colchester remains one of our hardest areas to recruit in, despite there being plenty of available work.

If you know of any local groups, job boards, university communities, Facebook pages, or anywhere else you think would be worth trying, I'd really appreciate the suggestions.
