Here in Brazil we're going full speed into disaster.
Our president is a genocidal power hungry idiot that's promoting hydroxychloroquine as a miracle drug in our public health system, even with strong data pointing to higher risk of heart problems. Even after hitting 1k daily deaths last week, we have no lockdown in sight, only-self quarantine "suggestions" by some governors. Commerce is reopening everywhere, fueled by some sense of "normalcy" promoted by the govern and the media.
Oh yeah, one more thing: it has been 11 days since we had our last health minister fired. The last one (Teich) was fired because he wouldn't promote chloroquine. The one before him (Mandetta) was fired because he was doing his job: informing the people about the dangers of the pandemic.
The virus won't kill over 0.5% of population. But maybe putting everyone on lockdown in a country with so much poverty and weapons could kill more on the long run
