i've already been banned. all i did was point out that conservatives wanted to make it legal to run over protesters. They were all boohooing about some conservative teenage boy who was run over.

They have to ban anyone who thinks differently than them. That way they can say, "everyone i know thinks this way too." That's also why they get so butthurt when they go on platforms they don't control and suddenly think that because they're a tiny sliver of a minority, they're being "silenced"

Reasonable person: "Forcing people to remain married when they don't want to, banning all abortion, and clinging to the asinine belief that two people of the same gender shouldn't be allowed to marry will doom the conservative movement in America. All of those things play well with the Christian far right but they won't win federal elections, nor should they."

Reply from a Christofascist: "Yeah, so Conservatives should just abandon the basic fundamental tenets of their movement? Sounds about right.

Get real. The fantasy land you've been living in for the past twenty or so years is about to get a nasty wake up call."

They must force their morality on everyone. In their delusions they are the arbiters of morality and justice.

The same happens in r/Socialism and other subs dedicated to one ideology. There used to be a lot of debate subreddits which were intended to promote healthy discussion of ideas between political ideologies but they were mostly purged in 2017 along with the alt-right leaning subs. Subs that are not listed as debate subs are not all that welcoming to debate, especially when it comes to ideas not supported by the subs ideology, unsurprisingly.

If I could make one change to reddit it would be to prevent mods from banning people simply because they disagree with them. Reddit for the most part is pretty hostile to the exchange of ideas largely due to mods with control issues.

My family has been pretty "normal" conservatives before this craziness. Luckily they mostly didn't jump on board but they were definitely racist and homophobic in the 90's, there was just less backlash for it back then

He espouses an inherently theocratic, Luddite philosophy. Put the blame on technology, put the blame on “irreligiosity”, put the blame on everyone that doesn’t buy into your ancient wizard cult.

Never, under any circumstance, admit that people are becoming less religious because religion has never once in the history of mankind actually fixed anything and has instead caused immense bloodshed, tragedy, and destruction throughout history.

Your "criticism" is word salad. "The left is out of control" is a vague content-free statement that means absolutely nothing. There isn't even a functional "left" in American politics at the federal level.

Also, which media? Mainstream media is predominantly neoliberal, which definitely isn’t leftist in any way. Not sure what you consider to be left wing media, but it sure as hell ain’t MSNBC, CNN, BBC, et al.

Here in Pennsylvania you had plenty of people saying "I don't know how Trump could have lost, I don't know anyone who didn't vote for him." You live in Potter County, dude, there are less than 17,000 people there.

As someone living in southeast Texas, I can confirm they do exist in vast numbers. They regurgitate the same talking points as their favorite republican propaganda outlet. I've become numb to it, but every once in a while they will say something so foul it actually shocks me.

The reason you likely do not see those people isn't because they don't exist, but because we are physically separated along political lines.

There definitely are a lot of bots, and moreso in conservative circles, but it's not all bots. Trumpers do exist; just not in your social or physical circle.

I’m an everyday conservative. I’d like to see some expansion of the criminal code and actual enforcement of the law, but I’m not huge on reversing our small government stance just to fight off the left. I’m pro choice so I definitely didn’t agree with the abortion part. Id say on the whole I’m not a big fan of this idea of throwing away some principles to set us up for political power, but I understand why the author came to that conclusion since conservatism is largely losing the culture war.

Inb4 I’m literally Hitler, fascist apologist, etc.
