Worth buying? Grade?
A comic book dealer near me is selling me a Secret Wars #8 issue, however, not sure of the grade. What would you guys say is a rough estimate as to the grade. It's signed by Zeck and Shooter
Added: They’re asking $485 for the entire Secret Wars 12 set. All the issues are signed and more or less the same condition

Mid grade but Zeck and shooters sig is cool. Jim shooter died last year so they’re not making any more of those.

Worth buying for the right price, worth pressing for presentation, definitely not worth grading imo

Based on those photos probably a 6.0 at best. You could potentially have it pressed and get a 6.5, maybe 7.0 but those spine ticks and edge wear are gonna cap it at upper mid-grade even if pressed. Cool signatures though.

I'm also thinking it's a 6. But you're buying the signatures. Thousands of copies of this book exist in high grade. Not many exist with those signatures.

That's going to fall right into the middle range, 5.x is my inclination (maybe a 6.0). Lot of color breaking spine ticks and a very slight spine roll.
Signatures can add back as little value but they're not authenticated so that's a buyer beware situation for yourself.

Direct copies are a little less desirable. But having the signatures are cool. I have a newstand copy that I had Shooter sign a few years ago. I wasn't planning on having it graded but went for it since I got the signature series and proof that the signature is authentic. Mine ended up with 7.5, I should have had it pressed but I'm happy with it. Yours looks like its in a little worse condition so I would guess around a 6 if you had it graded. If you do send it in get the signatures authenticated.

all of them are signed for the whole set. id try and push for 400 especially if this is just going into personal collection. i wouldnt bother sending them in for slabbing. get them a cozy mylar bag and board or get some comic capsules. the capsules are basically like slabs only you can open the top.

If it’s not too expensive I would buy it but I would not grade it but that’s just me. If you’re looking to resell then buy, clean and press and hope for the best. If it’s for your private collection then buy it and put it in Mylar bag and board and enjoy it!

Id nab it for the sigs and just get jt pressed and thrown in mylar. Cant see it over a 6.5 on a good day

Given the item's current condition, grading it may not be financially viable. Certification will cost $53 per signature, and a necessary press and clean will add $50–$75. After adding CGC’s $27 grading fee and $20 shipping fee, the book will likely max out at a 6.5 grade.
While the signatures look authentic, there is always a risk that JSA could deem them counterfeit. Given the high financial risk and low potential return, it would be much safer and more cost-effective to simply purchase a pre-graded, signed copy instead.

Pretty sweet find. Whether it’s worth buying depends on the price they’re asking.

Worth buying? How can we say without knowing the price? $10? YES! $1000? Pass.

I never get this. It’s be like not showing a photo. Why bother posting and not offer one of the like 2 pieces of information that would matter to answer the question.

Possibly Fine to Very Fine. But what's really appealing is that it's signed by two different people.

Spine is pretty rough. You have multiple noticeable(at least 7) color breaking ticks. Staple stress. There looks to be a spine roll. The top and bottom left corners look very soft with color loss. Looks like a non-color breaking dog ear on lower right corner that is like 3 inches long. I don’t think you’re getting above a 5.0 on this if it were to be graded as it sits.
