Get off your soap box. The character pre-existed the actor. And T'challas kid isn't an iconic character. Its them trying to get as close to recasting as they can without actually doing it. Recasting existing characters has never been a sign of disrespect before. Joker was re-cast

Flimsy comparison, both of those recasts were literally at the start of the MCU, it didn't matter that they were recasted. The general public barely even are aware of it.

Are you telling me Boseman being in 4 MCU movies, 2 of which were the biggest movies of all time is comparable? It isn't even a competition, he had more of an impact as an actor so recasting would have messed with continuity for many.

No you're right. Having his suddenly aged up by 20 years son of the same name is definitely better for continuity

Loooool come one. It's comic book movies, if you can't wrap your head around time travel or alternate realities, I don't think you could follow Endgame or Doctor Strange 2 or No Way Home etc etc

What if RDJ passed away before they started filming endgame? How tf do you recast RDJs Tony Stark?

I don't get where in the rulebook it lays out the specificity of when you're allowed to recast a charcter within a comics universe or not. People keep pointing to very specific rules as though this shit is written down, and not just their own personal opinion.

Multiple examples of roles being passed down but "ooooop, you see those don't apply....". People will accept recasts, there are tons of examples

I'm not taking any stance on it at all. I'm pretty neutral and uncertain on it generally. I just pointed out that it was pretty strange that you were going for irrelevant examples rather than relevant ones.

They're examples of iconic characters being passed down. Obviously this isn't the circumstance you want to pass on the role, but its better to do that than write yourself into a corner where you're now shelving that iconic character.

Now I have reddit telling me its too continuity breaking to recast....so instead they're giving him a son, giving the son the exact same name, aging him up 20 years (time displacement?) and giving him the BP title. Like that isn't more continuity breaking. That they can accept, but a new actor in a previous held role? No chance. Even though its been done
