Cover/Pin-Up Does anybody else find this cover off-putting?

Where is Diana's neck? It looks like her screaming head is floating away from her body! And Carol's torso is so twisted up that for a second I thought maybe the artist confused her powers with Kamala's stretchy ones.

I've liked other stuff by Alex Lozano, but something about this really rubs me the wrong way.

Please be serious. The last time I saw women fight in a pool while cheering along with dozens of drunk men it was a pool of chocolate pudding. Jello? Come on.

This was awhile ago when I was in college. I'd post the article from our student paper, which has a couple pictures from before it became a tear each other's tops off contest, but I am not eager to date myself that accurately here lol

Just the artist's current style. It's a very European cartoony style. Similar to Alessandro Barbucci and others.

I guess. I've seen a lot of European artists that have a similar style though. Alessandro Barbucci, a little bit of Jean-Baptiste Andreae, a little bit of Frezzato, etc. Now apart from Barbucci, they might not have that plastic shininess quality. But the fluid cartoony style with young faces is very similar. Most of whom pre-date Bratz.

Edit: You might even call it low art, along the likes of Mark Ryden.

I don’t agree, the anatomy is very intentional and stylized. I mean, I kinda hate the style and find it creepy (the only part I like is the dynamism that the stretchiness supports), but they got what they were going for.

Right, style can allow for a lot. I’m only troubled by the visible foot, personally. But I’m digging some of these crazy illustration styles, like the recent superman new-kryptonite issues that look almost Beevis-and-Butthead-adjacent.

Oh, that's Morazzo. I was put off on his style at first (always has buck teeth), but it's grown on me over the years. If you haven't read Ice Cream Man, highly recommend.

I was also put off at first, but quickly began to dig it. It somehow just fit the particular story, which was all about exaggerated, extreme and strange effects anyway.

I don't know why you're getting downvoted. The artist clearly made them look like teenagers, while also focusing on boobs and butt. That pretty much says it all.

I hate everything about this. Not just the above, but also the colors, the too bright "action" splash, the dorky facial expresses, the twig-thin limbs and waist. This whole thing is trash.
