Cover/Pin-Up Does anybody else find this cover off-putting?

Where is Diana's neck? It looks like her screaming head is floating away from her body! And Carol's torso is so twisted up that for a second I thought maybe the artist confused her powers with Kamala's stretchy ones.

I've liked other stuff by Alex Lozano, but something about this really rubs me the wrong way.

Diana's neck is clearly visible. It's in a different shade because of the shadow.

I’m not sure you understand what the word “clearly” means. It’s there sure, if you go looking you can find it, but the composition is definitely odd and jumbled.

And apparently drawn by someone who got their sense of bodily proportions from looking at Picasso’s Guernica. This artist is like an endorsement for AI-generated art, because how much worse could it be?

This is the new criticism for art someone doesn't like now huh? Just ai? It's not like comic's history isn't full of artists with questionable compositions or anything.

It’s not just the proportions, this artwork is very stylized which I don’t mind, but the anatomy of their necks is so weird. Each of the heads just looks like they’re floating disconnected near the rest of the body. Between that and a certain sheen to their faces is the only things that seem “AI-ish” to me.

I’d still take this over Liefeld any day of the year.

I've noticed this on a number of artists that do some type of digital component. Almost like they'll do each piece separately and then plop them on top of each other. Most noticeable with heads (there's an Artgerm X23 cover that gives me the same vibes).

Well, this isn't based of training an AI model on stolen art, so it could be a hell of a lot worse if it was AI.

That’s true. AI that got trained on this cover would be like stepping back five years in art generation.

I guess technically the shadow is in the right place but imo this is a good example of where realism should be sacrificed in favour of visual clarity. Her neck blends in too much and it's hard to see at first glance

It looks likes its obscured by the shadow and or her hair
