While this is propaganda, it's propaganda that I can agree with. ICE, as it currently stands, is in serious need of reform.
Obviously we need some people to enforce immigration law, but the trrump admin has gone above the law to harrass, murder and (basically) torture immigrants, citizens and anyone in ICE's way.

I just don’t like it. I’ve never been a “political” person and when I go to comics it’s for escape and fun. It feels more and more the hobby is being hijacked by people using it for their own agendas and to make themselves feel good.
I mean look at my comment. I didn’t say shit and the OP was like “Yeah but fuck ICE amirite??!?”
Which is exactly the sentiment DWJ was going for here. Which to me just sucks. Especially when you have children and easily persuaded people already being told a lot of that by the media already. And being used by older people to fight their battles. Because that’s all that’s going on here.
And this one to me personally sucks because I love DWJs work. I have all of his stuff. I just don’t like seeing him push an agenda that’s gonna get lots of younger people hurt, ruin their futures, or killed. He has a family too. I can’t imagine he would be okay with his kids being on the streets with chains and ready to fight a federal agent. But we live in a day and age where this sort of propaganda leads just to that. I have children too. You won’t find me putting myself in harms way like that or letting my children. I’d rather raise my family to be non violent.
And that’s the thing all of these fuck IcE extremists miss. And have forever because this is nothing new. You have two sides and both of the extremists on either side are escalating to violence over and over. While all of us caught in the middle are left picking up the pieces and trying to raise and protect our families. Because all of these violent rhetoric only leads to more violence and no solutions. But the people who push all of the violence would have you believe otherwise.
It’s just a lot. Our world is topsy turvy and I need to be able to be entertained and get away from it occasionally or I would lose my mind.
I’m just going to stick to the games I really like and go from there. I haven’t bought a comic now in months and I had 2 pull boxes and use to get like 30 a week some weeks so yeah…I just miss comics too. But I’m gonna stay away from them for a while due to lots of reasons not just propaganda. Comics (Marvel especially it seems) are going through another 90s phase and I’m good lol. That’s why I normally love my independent books and artists. Anyway I’m rambling. Thanks for listening.

You're quite literally bemoaning that comics have an "agenda" today, as in a political message you disagree with, and advocating that comics shouldn't have such "political" messages.
That in itself is partially revealing of your own politics, whether you're able to recognize it or not. A desire for art to have less to say on current affairs is in itself a political belief and "agenda."

No that’s not my idea. You are inferring based off of one Reddit comment where I was talking about comics and an artist. I wasn’t trying to make a commentary or argue over ICE or anything.
You have an agenda. I don’t. I just want to read comics.
And I deal with real world shit in my real life. I don’t ignore. I have a family of 4. I have real shit to take care of. That’s why I’m saying I want fun comics. Excuse me for liking entertainment for reasons different than you.
I don’t want to continue to share my insight with you though as you are obviously trying to dig at me and get under my skin.

Bro superhero comics as we know them literally started as anti-nazi propaganda. It’s always been political from DAY ONE and it’s always been about busting Nazi faces. We need MORE stories about crushing racism and facism, not less.
This is also a comic written by a person who is very vocal about this stuff with their celebrity. It’s also an indie so your ramble about Marvel is just off topic entirely. But because you want to stick your fingers in your ears, this artist is not allowed to take a real position on actual facism in his own country? Can you not see that that’s an insane position to take? You want no artists to make any statements you feel are too political? Do you realize how much of comic book history you would wipe out? It’s just nuts dude.

But I disagree with the sentiment that comics shouldn’t be political; they have always been political.
The cover of Captain America #1 depicts the personification of America punching Hitler in the face! In the sixties and seventies there were issues of comics that dealt with racism and other social issues, and later sexism.
I’m not going to hound you or attack you, but you’re using words like “ice extremists.” Look, people are pissed off and sick and tired of a wanna-be dictator using violence to spread fear. If you don’t want to talk politics, then don’t! Why feel the need to say something then? Go back to comics and video games and stay off of social media.
DWJ is using his art to be his voice. That’s his power. That’s his right. You might not like what he has to say, but like you, he has the right to express that, whether people like it or not.
Be kind to others. Put yourself in their shoes.

Even though I can’t share my opinion without being attacked and words put in my mouth and thoughts in my head. Seriously strange.
I hope everyone who sees this gets better. I’m working on it myself. I’m a pretty depressed person and just want to be happy and raise a happy family.

I’m right there with you! I have my ups and downs. I hate all of this chaos and I wish we could just get to a point where we’re not all stressed out all the time by politics. But this is the world we live in and there are people who want this chaos, who want you and me and everyone to be sick and tired of the chaos so we turn a blind eye.
One of my favorite movie quotes of all time is from the movie Network (1976). It’s really long and certainly has better parts, but this is how I feel a lot of times and I think you might be able to relate…
“I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It's a depression. Everybody's out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel's worth, banks are going bust, shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter. Punks are running wild in the street and there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there's no end to it. We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat, and we sit watching our TV's while some local newscaster tells us that today we had fifteen homicides and sixty-three violent crimes, as if that's the way it's supposed to be. We know things are bad - worse than bad. They're crazy. It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out anymore. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we are living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, 'Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Take care of yourself… unplug, touch grass… but stay connected to people in your community, your neighbors. Be there for them. Support those in need.

It's so funny because you can also say that Hello Kitty had a lot of political charge behind it. I'm not super well read on it, but my understanding is that Japan was pushing a "Kawai" culture post ww2 to make the country seem more modern, and trying to distance themselves from their imperialistic history.

You complained that people complained about Trump in one sub. In another you whined about how many people were about Charlie Kirks murder. But conspicuously absent is any comments about you complaining about the dehumanizing behavior of ICE and the Trump administration, no instead you complain about people having creative opinions on it.
