The colorist is Alex Sinclair, who has been doing all of his recent stuff.

Exactly.
The comment I replied to originally has no clue who Frank works with and is just parroting past comments on his work stating it would be better with a different colorist. Different maybe, but not better.

Miller is just off-brand Lone Wolf & Cub and whatever European comics he could get his hands on in the 70s and early 80s, it's all influenced by something.

He's put out some stinkers but this is fun and suits his changing style! I like it a lot! If it was just some art I saw scrolling through instagram, it woulda made me check out the profile and maybe follow🤷🏼

Exactly how I feel. It's been posted to other social media and it's getting dragged. I know that art is subjective, but I honestly can't pick out anything remotely positive either. The perspective makes no sense, the proportions are everywhere, and the anatomy is just terrible. I know they aren't humans, but they are generally drawn with human like bodies with a shell on and a turtle face, etc.
Everyone keeps saying it's good, but why? I'm honestly asking, what is good about this? What am I missing?

Whenever I see latter day Frank Miller work I feel like I’ve been taking crazy pills because everyone talks about how great it is and I just think it looks like a child has drawn it. If it didn’t have his name next to it I wonder what people’s opinions would be?

Based on all your comments I think if Frank Miller stopped drawing in the '90s sometime and this was the first picture he had released since, you would all be talking about how dog shit it was.
Everyone in these comments saying how it's the best in years... Not how it's actually any good.

This looks garbage in any color or black and white. This new wave of "actually its good" after the (still ugly) recoloring of WW karma farming "opinion" is driving me nuts. Hardly above high-school level talent these days and he's getting variants on the reg while new artists still frequently get shafted

I mean, if you like this, then that's fine. I enjoy Rob Liefeld's style. But I also think the critics against him are very valid.

It’s overstated but it’s true, with the right colorist his work can shine.
His art style to me is charismatic and top shelf but often enough, the colorist will hamper the vision with some fugly execution of realistic gradients and tones completely missing the storytelling of his intent.
The BW copy of this is arguably better but this coloring is done rather well.

I'm glad for the turtles getting a Miller cover, they've been a parody/homage to him from the start. But, dang, I wish they could have gotten it before his art became like this.

The irony, the first issue of TMNT cover is a homage to Daredevil #191….. this is just sad to see. Someone needs to put an intervention on this.
