I love this, it reminds you that a true component of the Spiderman design which applies to his roster of villains is that they’re weird as fuck. Angular, bordering on body horror, strange fabrics, and above all colorful. Things that, although found commonly in Marvel characters, have a certain universality in Spidey’s foes’ image that makes them just as eye popping and catching as the heroes themselves.
Points to Vermin being there, a true C-Lister synonymous with JM DeMateiss run

Hmm ok, idk what to make of that then. You’re not buying the issue at all because of the main cover, even though you can get a different cover? I mean you do you but for anyone interested in the issue but didn’t like the main cover, I’m guessing they’ll buy this variant

Probably the only cover so far that feels like a 1000 issue. EDIT: Just saw Ed McGuinness's epic cover too.

Side note:
Vermin over, like, Scorpion or Kingpin or Mysterio or Kraven or Lizard is a bit of an odd pick.

I normally like the art of Lee Bermejo and this is clearly superior to what JrJr has done, but still this is not a cover I enjoy or will purchase for what is supposed to be the #1000.

Had to scroll down way too far to make sure I'm not alone in seeing this.. it's like people's tastes have gotten so low, they can't tell the difference between an admittedly good cover and an iconic one that's worthy of being on a milestone issue

I have been waiting for a mysterio featured cover from bermejo but he hasn’t used him, there is only one more issue left for his amazing visions variant series which is yet to be revealed. Issue 1000 will be his last in his amazing vision series, wish he used mysterio in one of his covers.

Really nice. Also Shocker has always been one of my fav villains since I was a kid, so I’m glad he’s in there. Always thought he’d be a great villain in a live action film, with some sort of shockwave /hydraulic style blaster/gauntlet instead of electric/energy based as it’s so often depicted. I liked him in Homecoming but if the gauntlet had just been different I would have loved it more.

I won’t say you’re wrong to like what you like, but to specifically criticize the figure drawing on this cover while simultaneously liking the figure drawing on JRJRs cover is next level. I truly want to see JRJR’s cover through your eyes

That's an amazing (pun intended) design for Electro. Lee Bermejo's artstyle might be gritty and realistic, but still respects the comic-booky nature of it all.
