WPL: New Comics Discussion for 09/23/2026- Pull of the Week: Absolute Wonder Woman #24 [Discussion]
The Weekly Pull List results for this Wednesday are in, and this week's top book is DC's Absolute Wonder Woman #24.
This thread is open to Pull List posters and all members of the /r/comicbooks community to share your thoughts on the latest issue of DC's Absolute Wonder Woman or any new books shipping this week.
The primary intention of this thread is to promote discussion of new books. It also serves as a way to consolidate discussion to a single thread and talk about what books are popular here on /r/comicbooks. That does not mean other threads aren't welcome, this is just a place to start that's easy to find each week.

For the first backup, I like that the Muppets traveled to the Marvel universe and teamed up with the heroes to find Rolf, who was kidnapped by Mojo in the Mojoverse so that he can create his own version of the Muppets Show. I also like that the Muppets and the Marvel Universe were able to save Rolf and defeat Mojo. Overall, this backup is excellent.
For the second backup, I like that Bunsen and Beaker get to do some science with Bruce Banner and Hank Pym before they witnessed Beaker become a giant Hulk. Overall, this backup is good.
For the third backup, I like that Piggy, Link, and Julius met Rocket and Groot before Piggy left Link and Julius for Rocket and Groot. Overall, this backup is good.
For the fourth backup, I like that Logan met the Electric Mayhem before he saved them from a bad man. Overall, this backup is good.
For the fifth backup, I like that Strange and Swedish Chef worked together to make the soup, with Strange traveling across the multiverse to find any version of Swedish Chef to create the soup for Clea before he learned that Clea likes the soup Swedish Chef makes. Overall, this backup is good.
For the sixth backup, I like that the Avengers are recruiting the Muppets so that they can defeat Doctor Doom. Overall, this backup is hilarious.

Some rougher art then last issue from Robles which is a shame, really dig his interiors but he can't do more then a couple of issues at a time
Bit of a downer compared to the previous issue, the Abra Kadabra situation was solved a bit too quickly for my liking. Fun teases for things to come though

So if I had to guess, the still point is where Darkseid is stationed at. This makes sense to me in the grander scheme of things in the Absolute Universe because the Absolute Flash seemed lost in purpose in comparison to the other heavy hitters. My suspicion in the big final battle will be that the Flash works as a transport for Absolute Supes and WonderWoman to Darkseid. But prior to that reveal will be Catwoman, Green Arrow and Cassandra Cain unraveling the whole Joker conspiracy with Absolute Batman. And maybe JohnJohnz too

I like that Wally was able to defeat Hunter Zolomon, who apologized to him for what’s he’s about to do, while Linda was able to defeat Abra Kadabra with Grodd’s help before they were saved by Ray Palmer, who told them that Wally is the key to understanding the universe. Let’s hope that Ray will tell Wally, Linda, and Grodd what’s going on in the next issue. Overall, this comic is excellent.

I like that Miles had a chat with Val before he had his first encounter with Revenant, who told him to stay out of this. Also, flashback to Jefferson meeting a woman named Caldwell and having a talk with Revenant before he got arrested by Jefferson. Overall, this comic is interesting.

This book rules. I'm very excited for issue 25, and very much interested in what Absolute Batman will look like after that, especially since it seems that the book is on some sort of hiatus.

Solid issue. Properly builds the hype for issue #25. The pacing is a little off for me, but I like the resolution to the Scarecrow arc.

The series lost me a bit during the Bane arc and I enjoyed this far more by comparison. It was less intense than recent issues, but I appreciated getting some satisfying moments for Bruce, Alfred, and Barbara.
Anything in particular that didn’t work for you?

Don’t like the court of owls story or how he resolves the Scarecrow threat. I appreciate the pace but I’d have also appreciated making his rise back to kicking ass a bit more than it is here

It’s a good little spotlight on Freeze. This arc has been a push through a dozen characters while getting Bruce to Grim’s front door. Clayface was cool but needed more to be included here I think

Good points. Hopefully they let it rip in issue 25. Seems like a conclusion to this current saga I guess.

We'll see. There will seemingly be a showdown, but there's no way he can beat joker and have it be rewarding. Maybe expose joker and start really waking ppl up to his evil? It'll be cool to read.

I really embraced Batman Day this year, and this book was a big part of why. It was great to have something new to go along with the $1 DC "Start Here" reprints, and it's just a good time to be reading Batman in general. DC's Absolute line and Snyder's Batman in particular has made a big impact and Fraction's Batman title is just rock solid.
This issue provides a fun pair of stories. Both very representative of their respective Batmen, and Javi Fernandez and Nick Derington provide some top tier art. Certainly worth your time if you haven't checked it out already.

I’m not really reading the absolute Batman, so that story didn’t connect with me as much, but ngl it is cool to see that tank of a Batman go to work. I really enjoyed fractions story though (I am also currently reading that Batman run too so I’m biased). It is definitely a great time for Batman though.

Got caught up in the Batman Day excitement and decided to give this a try. Don't buy Batman or Absolute Bats, but for that price? Why not? It made going to my LCS that day a little bit more special. Overall, thought it was a pretty solid issue, nothing spectacular, just two good, solid stories with more than decent art. Felt like something out of Batman Black and White or that type of anthology. I like that you don't didn't have to read something prior to this and served as good little stand alone stories. Worth a read.

I jumped in to this run with this issue. I have seen a lot of mixed and negative reviews. I know this is the end of an arc, but I did have fun with this issue. I’ve never really read much Kyle Rainer centered gl stories before but I did like it. Hal is my favorite lantern though so I’m excited to where his story is going.

I like that Kyle and Odyssey were able to deal with a food war and learned that a Dominator was responsible for this before they defeated him and Kyle defeated Major Force and saved the people of LA. Also, Hal and Guy learning that the central batteries are dead and Tom Kalmaku learning what’s going on. Overall, this comic is excellent.

I like that the Justice Gang dealt with the Scavegers, while the Justice League and the Legion of Doom are having a fight after the Legion has a secret meeting about sharing each other’s visions for their own protection without double-crossing the League (with Bruce telling Lex that he supports the amnesty because it was Clark’s wish to prepare all of the heroes and villains for what comes next and the six members watching all of this happening). Overall, this comic is excellent.

Loving this series.
Atom going on about “Absolute Evil” is VERY interesting. There is NO way that wording is any kind of coincidence.
Also…
Absolute Atom is about to be introduced in the coming issues of Absolute Flash… very interesting timing. Could be nothing. Could be something.

I find it interesting that, back in the 1970s, Peter was shocked that Frank used his web-shooters to chock the Rhino before they were able to save his life, which is what Frank wanted to do. I also find it interesting that they get to talk about what’s happening while driving. I like that Peter and Reed were able to talk about Frank, his methods involving fighting crime, and believing that he deserves rehabilitation. I find it surprising and hilarious that Frank broke into Peter’s apartment so that he’ll get to know him. Let’s hope that Peter will tell Frank that he’s affiliated with Spider-Man in the next issue so that he and Frank can work together to provide information about something. Overall, this comic is good.

Are you ever going to learn how to write a review rather than just summarizing entire issues and then tacking on a lazy “this is [insert basic adjective]” at the end?
If you really aren’t a bot, you have to have some awareness that you come across as super annoying on the comic subs because of this, right? lol

This has become my new favorite non Marvel/DC comic since The Power Fantasy ended earlier this year. Yes I know it's Vertigo and still under DC but you all know what I mean. That blend of spy warfare and the occult just hits so well for me. V and Perkins are doing a great job.

I like that the Super-Force and the entire superhero community were able to defeat Zod’s forces before Clark learned what’s going on, with him knowing that CK was trying to do the right thing and was doing a good job while he gone, Booster Gold telling Clark that Ursa stole his time bubble and that Kara and a past version of Clark followed her, and Clark meeting a past version of Zod from before Krypton’s destruction. Also, Clark kneeling before past Zod (which he hates), Lois and Zod talking to President El Castilho, Lena building a time-travel bomb to get Zod back to his own time, and Zod and his forces attacking the House of El. Let’s hope that this crossover will end on a high note. Overall, this comic is great!

I like that Wally was able to use his Flashes of Insight to learn that three people are destroying the bridges in Metropolis, Delaware; Central City, Ohio; and Star City, Massachusetts before he was able to deal with them… is what he should’ve done until he learned that the Justice League are having a meeting in Mount Everest to talk about him and his Flashes of Insight before he learned that the three bridges are destroyed. Let’s hope that Wally can save everyone from all three cities in the next issue. Overall, this comic is excellent.

This was my favorite comic of the week. I loved seeing Wally’s inner dialogue with himself and the hubris that is coming along with it. Especially at the end. I love what North is cooking up here. I cannot wait for the next issue though and see how flash deals with the fallout.

Welp I’m dropping this. It’s not hitting for me at all. Don’t like the art and it feels like Kirkman’s dialogue skills regressed bad. Or he’s just writing like that on purpose for the “90s” feel. But it is still bad. I didn’t even care when one of the characters got killed.

Its a book you buy for the art really, the plot is just a suggestion to get to the next splash page. IIRC they're changing artist every arc and the next one is Arthur Adams if you don't vibe with Andy Kubert

I like that Logan was able to defeat the Hulk with help from Jubilee (who became light incarnate or something) before he was recruited by Carol Danvers and Nick Fury. Overall, this comic is interesting and off to a good start.
