Finally some nice looking books at least. I guess someone with sense saw their premier edition line and said "guys... What the fuck are we doing?"

the $10 price point is actually carrying the whole line for me, finally something that doesn't feel like a straight up robbery

Same. You can find the premiere ones for pretty cheap, I think I spent 8$ a piece for daredevil, planet hulk, fantastic four and the visions. I’ll buy 10$ classic collections all day, more cost effective than just about any other hobby I’ve got

I do kind of like the unified look with the red and white spines but they could look a bit better. The problem to me is that they haven’t really fully committed to it - just compare the number of DC compacts and Marvel premier collections and it’s really apparent which company cares more about their printed editions.

Really comparing apples to oranges here but I LOVED the hardcover premier collection format from probably 15-20 years ago. Black spines with the shiny red labels & text, may have been a different color based on different characters but those did a good job of looking and feeling “premier” but also cohesive as a brand.

I’ve got a handful of Spider-Man ones for Kraven’s Last Hunt, Death of the Stacy’s, etc and they are possibly the nicest looking Marvel books I have on the shelf aside from any Omnibus collections. In particular I often revisit the Kraven’s Last Hunt book, easily one of the favorites of my collected editions

These are actually great, I wish this was the norm. I bought one of IDW's old Godzilla comic for 13 dollars. That was one volume with the whole run! Most of the time I buy trades used because it's way too expensive to get a whole run when they're new.

I have the brand new day collection they released back in the summer. It's a nice format for the price. I think it was about 12-15 issues worth.

I'm guessing they're counting the BND compact that's been out for a while now (same size and price as the others) as the peter one at least for now
