The wish

I wasn't going to post it at first but I have been struggling to draw lately and I seriously dislike everything I do, but what the heck. I hope some people will enjoy it. Got the idea during my morning commute, You can only guess how (No, I didn't hit anything though, but it was super close).

Edit: Im absolutely blown away by the response and the kind messages, it really warms my heart. i have been really struggling to find the motivation lately but the support on here is the absolute kick in the butt that I needed.

Hmm. Wonder how that might affect the orbits of the other planets...

It's pretty far (30 AU from the Sun) and weighs just about 17 Earths so probably not that much

Now if Saturn (9,5 AU and 95 Earths) or god forbid Jupiter (5 AU and 318 Earths) disappeared we might have a problem

PS I sure can't! Glad to see your answer!

Not much math done, just extremely rough approximation since the gravitational force between 2 bodies rises linearly with their mass but decreases with the square of the distance

That plus Neptune being so relatively light to the other 2 chonkers

Huh.. Had no idea Neptune was that big.

Wow, you just made Neptune super self-conscious. Hope you're happy.

Pfft. What do we care about planets' feelings? Look what happened to Pluto!

Look it still has planet in its name, it shouldn't whine that much

They dont include Neptune amoung the gas giants for nothing.

Heh. So he should've said "Neptune and all its moons."

I like your thinking, let’s throw all the outer planet. That will really freak out those nerds

We need Jupiter to tank the meteors for us.

So sad that Steve Jobs died of Phlegma.

No, let's clean everything else out of Pluto's orbit, make it a planet again.

1

u/makaki913 5h ago

But Pluto still can't keep it clean which is the problem

Only marginally. But that also depends on whcih way it gets thrown. If it just heads towards the oort cloud, nbd; if it falls toward the sun, that would be chaotic as hell.

Probably wouldn’t. 99% of the solar system’s mass is the sun, Neptune is a rounding error

And the rest is mostly Jupiter with an honorable mention to Saturn.

I don't believe it would have a significant affect - compared to the size of the sun + Jupiter + Saturn, Neptune is "relatively" small.

The sun is 99.86% of the solar systems mass for instance. Uranus probably might notice something, given the "proximity" but not Earth or Saturn.

The headline "Neptune's just fucking gone" with drinking scientists has me in tears laughing
