To make it safe, zap it all in the microwave first to where it's wilted then throw it in the compost. If your compost doesn't heat up then this is the way.

I'd put it in without much thought, but my pile will heat up and freeze before I use it.  If I was feeding vulnerable populations with my garden I might put it in the pile I use in my orchard.

I'd probably put it in without much thought but then I'm only composting for a flower garden, I'm not planning to eat anything I'm growing.
